Matua is such a beautiful name.  While I was working on posing this little charmer and I kept saying his name as I rocked and soothed him to sleep.  It rolled right of my lips and sounds strong and soft at the same time, my favorite kind of name.  So I had to ask his mom how she chose his name.  She told me about her family’s Polynesian heritage and that Matua was a legendary Polynesian King who lead his people east to be the first settlers of Rapa Nui (Easter Island).  How totally cool is that!  He was the perfect little Prince, at a month old he was calm and hap ..read more
