RECOMB 2019, one of the long standing computational biology conferences has announced the list of accepted papers for this year’s RECOMB. RECOMB 2019 is going be held  in The George Washington University in the first week of May from 5th-8th. As usual, the main RECOMB 2019 will be preceded by a number of satellite workshops; RECOMB Genetics, RECOMB-CCB, RECOMB-Seq, and RECOMB-Dream Challenges. 2018 Biology of Genomes, one of the long standing genomics conferences is just around the corner. This year’s Biology of Genomes will be from 8th May to 12th May. Just, recently the accepted talks/posters at BOG18 were announced and somehow missed that. The 2018 meeting will focus on DNA sequence variation and its role in molecular evolution, population genetics and complex diseases, comparative genomics, large-scale studies of gene and protein expression, and genomic approaches to ecological systems. Illumina Launches iSeq 100 Illumina launched a new sequencer iSeq 100 at this year’s JPM.  iSeq 100 can sequence 4 million reads per run, can sequence 2x 150bp with maximum throughput of 1.5Gb per run. iSeq 100 is initially known as Project Firefly and uses CMOS semiconductor technology with SBS. iSeq 100 is the smallest desktop sequencer in Illumina’s  portfolio and it is primarily focused for providing sequencing solutions to smaller projects, like small genome sequences, targeted gene sequencing, and long-range amplicon sequencing.
