Grips for sweaty hands
Mountain Bike Review

Does anybody have any recommendations for grips that are soft texture and grip well when sweaty? My grips now are Ok but suck when sweaty and I don’t always wear gloves. Converting from past life in BMX to MTB got a 4” hop (was well over 34” on BMX) and feel not being able to roll and keep my hands on the grips is causing some annoyance ..read more

Jumps run trains on me.
Mountain Bike Review

I can't jump. I mean i can, i can jump well, but steep lips get the better of me. I can't do tables, dirt jumps, gap, the whole 9 yards. Its weird though, because when it comes to bunny hopping, jumping natural jumps, or non-steep lips, i get massive air time. I mostly think it is a mental issue, as i kinda get scared of going into jumps. I dont know why, im not afraid to crash or afraid to be high in the air, but when im going into the jump I just get scared to boost and pull up. I also... Jumps run trains on me ..read more

I have a 2021 stumpjumper and a transition spire. If I just pop a 27.5 in the back of these bikes is it really even noticeable? It's only 1.5" if diameter different ..read more

Ethirteen race carbon bars-center marks way off....had this issue??
Mountain Bike Review

I've never had this happen before, especially with a higher end piece of equipment...but am I crazy, are you seeing the same thing? I picked up a pair of their race carbon bars (and to ethirteen's credit, they have a healthy discount for those in the public service realm (military, LEO, etc...) got them installed and trimmed using the printed guides (I measured too). But man, something was off when I went riding. Taking a step back, they weren't centered...even though I had them dialed on... ethirteen race carbon bars-center marks way off....had this issue ..read more

Mountain Bike Review

Hi all, I have an Iron Horse Maverick Comp that I've had for years but haven't ridden much. I'm wanting to start riding more (just in the neighborhoods) and am wondering what year this bike might be and if it's easy to get a rack for it. My bike looks just like this discontinued one on Amazon: Amazon.com: Iron Horse Maverick Comp Men's XC Recreational Mountain Bike : Deportes y Actividades al Aire Libre Amazon.com: Iron Horse Maverick Comp Men's XC Recreational Mountain Bike : Deportes y Actividades al Aire Libre www.amazon.com I found this in a junk pile by the side of the road in near ..read more

Another fu&$ing rib injury thread

Caught a pedal on a small but somewhat consequential slotted rock drop a couple weeks ago and went OTB. Tucked arms (good) but landed hard on my chest (bad). Typical trajectory - rode for 45min afterwards, pain got steadily worse over the following week. Got x-rays on day 3 - no fracture evident, lungs sounded ok, so bruised ribs it is. No decent pain meds prescribed (thanks a lot Sackler family), but everything got markedly better over the past few days until… On day 12 - I am experiencing... Grips: Foam (silicone) to rubber and right back again?
Mountain Bike Review

Been running Gusset foam (actually silicone) 32mm grips for the last 5 seasons. One of my grips finally failed and decided to try a set of my older rubber Race Face grips, which @ the time would have been considered comfy @ 32mm. My palms were aching after a couple miles and I kept having to move my hands around to mitigate the pressure on my palms. Just wondering if any long time foam / silicone users had the same experience? Also any other lock on silicone grips to consider before I try...
