CALGARY, AB – Labatt Breweries has announced a capital investment of $9.6 million to fund the expansion of Banded Peak Brewing, a Calgary craft brewery that it purchased in 2020. Details were described in a press release as follows: The $9.6 million investment supported a more than 7,000 square foot addition to the 4,800 square foot brewery, including a state-of-the-art lab. The expenditure also funded a bulk grain silo to reduce plastic use in malt shipping, and improved brewing equipment throughout the facility. TORONTO, ON – Burdock Brewery has announced the release of a new barrel-aged strong beer. Razbino Raspberry Imperial Stout (10% abv): Out of our multi-year beer making program comes Razbino! It’s a big chocolatey imperial stout that was aged for 1 year in freshly emptied Cabernet Franc wine barrels then was aged on heaps of A-grade raspberries. KITCHENER, ON – Short Finger Brewing has announced the release of a new barrel-aged beer that has spent so long aging that the brewery they co-created it with no longer exists. Reducto Eis-Sour (11.9% abv): Back in February 2019, we had Kyle and Kristen from Half Hours On Earth down to work on our collaboration beer.
