A new phishing-as-a-service campaign is sinking its teeth into iMessage.
The PhaaS named “Darcula” is using 20,000 domains to spoof brands and steal credentials from Android and iPhone users in more than 100 countries and across sectors from airlines to utilities. The phishing kit offers 200 phishing templates to use for spoofing brands, showing high-quality landing pages with correct branding and all.

Apple offers US$199.99 travel case for the Vision Pro. Future versions may have built-in lens cleaners for use with the spatial computer.
Apple has filed for a patent (number US 20240100571 A1) for a “panel cleaning system” that would include a cleaner coupled with a base or a lid of case. Currently, folks like me who wear prescription glasses have to get special, attachable lens to use with an Apple Vision Pros. Future versions of the spatial computer might eliminate this need.

Future Apple Watches could help prevent folks from drowning. Apple has filed for a patent (number US 20240105043 A1) for a “wearable device used as a digital pool attendant.”
About the patent filing
The patent filing relates generally to pool alarm systems and methods for detecting when swimmers are in distress or drowning. The global smartphone market grew by 7% year-over-year (YoY) to reach 323.2 million units in quarter four (Q4) of 2023, according to new data from Counterpoint Research.
The research group says that Apple grew by 2% YoY, overtaking Samsung for the top spot. Samsung, meanwhile, declined by 9% YoY losing share to Apple in the premium segment, to Chinese manufacturers such as Xiaomi in the mid-tier segment and to Transsion brands in the entry-level.
