I started a new job in the fall of 1997. By winter 1997, I was full-time and started checking out the shops during my lunch hour. There was a cute consignment shop I went to often. One day in the Spring of 1998, I found a beautiful wooden bird statue, obviously hand carved. I was very into tropical decor then and decided to purchase it. The lady who I had come to know said to me, "you know that is a fertility bird, right?" I said, "What?" She then told me it was from Peru and hand-carved and purchased by a consignor during their honeymoon. So I loved the story but laughed about the fert ..read more

For years I have heard there is a haunted mill about 15 miles from me. This mill is so close, yet I have never seen it. Where is this place, and what is Old Town Murrieta? This past weekend we decided to explore.  The Kea Mill The 100-foot grain elevator was built in 1918 for farmers to store their grain before transport to various milling companies in Los Angeles. It sat next to train tracks and a depot and, despite removing the train tracks, continued to operate into the early 1970s. In 1991 the mill was boarded up.  Why do people think there is a haunting? The story go ..read more

The El Campo Santo Cemetery in Old Town San Diego has many stories of death and hauntings. There is a long list of people who have encountered spirits and have had paranormal experiences at this location. In 1996 the activity had become so bad the local homes and businesses got their money together to have a professional exorcism of the cemetery! On my first encounter in this cemetery, I had a picture of what looked like a mist by a grave site. You can see that photo here. I was intrigued to find out if it was paranormal or something else. I have been at least 20 times since and had no ..read more
