Just for fun, there is a quick poll at the end of this post. Do you have goals? Some of us are more goal-oriented than others. Nevertheless, it is good to want to accomplish things. The Bible does warn us against the sin  selfish ambitions. We must be careful not to have idols in our life, and not to place anything above Jesus, but there is nothing wrong with setting some goals. Christians are to live purposeful lives. Yes, we are supposed to be gentle, humble, meek, and we are called to have servants’ hearts, but by no means are we to ever go with the flow. Where My Soul Rests

As Christians, we know how meaningful relationships are, it takes work, and it takes care to maintain good relations with the people in our lives. Without a doubt, our marriages involve a lot of work, as does our parenting. But another type of relationship that requires careful consideration is friendship. Before any of us get married and have families of our own, our friends are influential and have a lot to do with the sort of people we become.  Whether you were raised in a Christian home or not, you must understand that God wants us to be discerning about the company we choose to keep ..read more

Photo by Thought Catalog on Pexels.com Hi friends, let me start by wishing you all a very Happy New Year I hope that 2020 will be good for everybody.  As I look back on 2019, I cannot help but feel very thankful for my walk with Jesus, all glory to God for bringing me this far in my life.  I hope that this year will bring you closer to the lord too. In this post, I just want to share something that God has laid on my heart, and it’s about the importance of knowing your worth in Christ.  For many years, I’ve always looked to other people for validation; sadly, I’ve wasted so much time worryin ..read more

Photo by Nubia Navarro (nubikini) on Pexels.com How was Christmas day for you? I know it can be a hard time for some. Apologies for such a negative intro to this post. Truth be told, I have mixed feelings about the season; for the bad feelings, my reasons are threefold; firstly, some of you may know that I lost my son, Tom Luke, over three and a half years ago, and I wonder what he would be up to now. And, It’s hard not to feel robbed of my son’s life, he should be here with us, with me (his mum), dad, and baby sister. Secondly, I’ve always been an introvert, so having to come out of my warm ..read more

Christmas Is Pro-Life
Where My Soul Rests

I’ve been thinking a lot about Christmas and its undeniable Pro-life message. Christmas is not a Christian holiday as such, anyone can celebrate it. I’m not going to get into the origins of Christmas, but yes, Christ is connected to it. For many Christians, this season is an extraordinary reminder of the birth of our Lord and savior. Imagine if Mary disobeyed God’s plan and said no, there would be no hope for mankind, no remission for sins if the messiah did not come into the world to bear our sins on the cross, as was the Father’s plan. The first person to recognize Jesus was a pre-born baby ..read more

Photo by Ravi Kant on Pexels.com In my post previous to this one ( check the link https://wheremysoulrests.wordpress.com/2019/12/16/seek-gods-guidance-for-2020/), I wrote about our need as believers, to seek God’s guidance, and to look toward 2020 with renewed hope in God’s goodness to us. If you happened to read through that post, I hope that you made that resolution to do so before January 1st. Dear reader, if you are a believer, hopefully, this article will remind you to trust in the Lord’s faithfulness and to hold steadfastly to Him. If you are not a believer, I want you to feel encourag ..read more

Photo by Jens Johnsson on Pexels.com With 2020 rapidly approaching, let’s face the New Year and decade with fresh hope in God’s goodness to us. Are you hoping to start something new in 2020? Such as a new job or your own business, you need the Lord’s hand upon your life. If you are making New Years Resolutions, consider resolving to commit your plans to the Lord first. God is a loving Father to his children and delights in us when we seek wisdom from Him, but we cannot neglect our primary calling, which is to put Him first in our lives. We must humble ourselves and be prepared to accept His ..read more

Are you the parent of a toddler with screen time issues and looking for ways to keep them busy at home Please note, that many of the following activities can be enjoyed by both child and parent, and it can be a lovely bonding session between them. If your child is watching something, you could try to engage them by saying “look what I have” and play with the objects yourself, describing what you’re doing as you go along. By describing what you’re doing each time, it will look like fun to your small child and something worth doing. Obviously, reading and playing outside is essential, but there ..read more
