Ciceley Motorsport have revealed a new livery for the 2020 BTCC season, with the team competing under the Carlube Triple R Racing with Cataclean & Mac Tools name. The arrival of Carlube as a major sponsor means that the coming season will mark the first time that both Ciceley-run cars have run under the same team name and livery, and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class outfit will be looking to build on a frustrating 2019 season. Motorbase Performance has confirmed that it will make the change to a fourth-generation Ford Focus for the 2020 BTCC season, with the build of three brand-new cars currently underway. After making the switch from running the BMW 320si to the Ford Focus ST in 2011, Motorbase have campaigned in the model since with the introduction of the new fourth-generation marking the team’s tenth year with the same model. TOCA, the BTCC series organiser has revealed that development of the hybrid power system set to be used in the BTCC from 2022 is ahead of schedule. Teams, partners and stakeholders were advised of the progress at a recent BTCC Hybrid Working Group.
