Back in 2022, American racing driver Mike Skeen entered his first full season of IMSA racing with Gilbert-Korthoff Motorsports and their Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3. Thomas Preining won the second DTM race of the weekend this afternoon at the Norisring coming from second place on the grid to beat pole sitter René Rast. Rast finished second just half a second in front of yesterday’s winner Sheldon van der Linde. The result puts Preining, driving the #91 Manthey Porsche, back at the head of the championship with a 10-point lead over Sheldon van der Linde. Sheldon van der Linde finally claimed his first victory at the Norisring on Saturday in his fifth season in the DTM. The defending champion had previously secured his first pole position at the street circuit in Nuremberg, and so started the race from the front of the field. 69 laps later, he took the chequered flag in his BMW M4 GT3.
