Today I am stoked to share with you a very informative and important article. I had never heard of black seed oil until I was approached by The Blessed Seed Company to publish an article here. I read up about this oil and was so amazed and excited that I agreed to publish the article immediately. This seed called Kalonji seeds have been used by me innumerable times in my curries -but I have never used this oil. And also, never really checked out the benefits of these seeds. I hope you too enjoy this enlightening article…  *I am not being paid to write this and not getting any remunerat ..read more

Last week while I was doing physiotherapy with my son, as the case has been recently, my mind wandered. That does not mean that I was not aware of what I was doing. I was. And I was also aware about his playfulness and muscle tone. But my mind was multi-tasking. After all I have such a long experience of excellent multitasking!! I finished his physiotherapy exercises (all of it) and then he went to play with his grandparents. And I was left alone with my thoughts. And I started reflecting on this thought which had come up earlier – of multitasking mentally. I started wondering what was the im ..read more

As you all know, I am a holistic life enthusiast. I go for natural solutions whenever possible while never disclaiming the benefits of allopathic medicines or the modern-day technologies and way of life. Of late, with the #metoo movement, there were lots of people who came forward with their experiences and struggles. In all these experiences, people narrated the trauma they underwent and the therapies they needed. But no one has ever spoken about the energy body involvement and cure. And naturally, most people seemed still scarred. Complete healing was rather unheard of – at least for ..read more

Photo by Tim Mossholder from StockSnap Today I thought of writing a post adjunct to my last post - Parenting is nurturing. Yet it speaks about the glorious summer days, the spring days, the holidays, the awesome beaches, the thrilling campfires, the romantic for some and playful for some rains and so on… I am talking about enjoying the glorious gift of “nature” and teaching our children to appreciate and enjoy it…  In my childhood, we did not require any complex technologies or gadgets to enjoy our vacation days or holidays… We required just the company of our loved ones… Going to dif ..read more

Photo by Liane Metzler from StockSnap “My kid wants only pizza! He does not have his dinner if I serve rice and curry…” “My son is always glued to the tab!” Nah…These are not the concerns voiced by parents of teenage children. These are concerns raised by parents of pretweens! I look at them and wonder how to turn their attention to themselves and their parenting without hurting or antagonizing them. After hearing them rant for some more time, I realize that it is not possible to tell them anything. Maybe they would realize on their own or their children will develop good eating ..read more

In these times, when we are hearing so much about how our world is facing so many threats – the wildfire in Australia, floods and cyclones, climate change, the pandemics, new types of viruses and microbes taking so many lives and threatening the human race itself, it is obvious that something has gone terribly wrong. It may have been the thoughtlessness of the human race or the greed; it may be destiny or maybe man-made – whatever it is, at least now we – the intelligent and powerful human race have to do something to protect the world. And the solution is kind of obvious! Stop being so tho ..read more

During my stay in my village, one day, my domestic help asked me if I would like to have muringa ella thoran (which is Moringa leaves stir fry.) I was born and brought up in a city – far far away from my village. Though we had tasted many of the authentic Kerala delicacies during my childhood – there were a few which I had not eaten. And one of those was this Moringa Leaves stir fry. I was naturally excited to try it.  The next day she got in a huge branch of the leaves and started cooking it. I looked on amazed when she got the dish ready in just half an hour! And the taste… It still ..read more

I was looking outside the window… It was raining heavily and the sky was overcast… It was just 1 pm, but it looked as if it was 6pm… But I was enjoying the rain and the cold, breeze with occasional drizzle coming my way… I realized this and was thrilled…yes thrilled… I know, it may sound a little over the top. But it was the exact emotion that I felt. It was a long long time back that I had enjoyed the rains…  Some of my memories that came alive when it rained over the past few years…  “Walking by the sea face with my friends eating buttered corn on the cob while the waves lashed ..read more

A few days back, I was informed about an online campaign that had started in Kerala, India – “Whosever be the face, the mask is of importance”. My husband had told me about this after enrolling himself for the same. An individual’s role (especially if the person was a common man) did not seem very significant in this campaign. However, I too enrolled... The campaign required that we put our pictures with a mask on, as our profile pictures in the various social media sites. Of course, also, pledge to step out of our homes only after wearing a mask.  My parents were amused and asked me ..read more
