I already knew in 2019 that 2020 is going to be a special year, however not for the reasons we all know now. For us 2020 was a very special but also a strange year. For sure 2020 will always be in our memories. In December I bought a proposal ring for Andrea, I knew that she is the one, even though we haven’t lived together. I know that that won’t be a problem. We have been spending a lot of time together and that went well as well. I started planning the proposal in Mexico, together with 2 friends of Andrea, in complete secret of course. During January news of the Novel Corona Virus in China ..read more

Andrea and I have been a lot together already in Cancun, we went to Xplor, Xenses and now we even visited Tulum. Tulum is an ancient Mayan city, build aroun the year 1200 (however the earliest enscription is from around 500 AD. There are many tour operators that offer a guided tour, with a pick up from your hotel. Visiting this ancient Mayan site is well worth it. Located in the south of Riviera Maya, Tulum is a very pretty place. You can clearly notice that you are in the middle of the Jungle. Luckily we had our tour guide helping us find the way. We entered Tulum at one of the side entrances ..read more

The world is slowly moving back to normal again, however for now flying is still dificult and not that common anymore as it used to be. In this blog I will advise you on stuff you now need to think about before you are even in the plane. Hope it helps you a bit. Check the requirements Some countries require aditional paperwork, think about a negative PCR test, or even a proof of vacination. I always check this site: Traveldoc when I book and even before I check in. You never know when something will change. Sometimes you need proof of a health insurance as well. Health declaration needed? I al ..read more

A day in Xenses

During my time in Cancun, Andrea and I wanted to explore the area more, so after visiting Xplor, we decided it was time to visit Xenses. Xenses is also part of the Xcaret group, however, the park is completely different. Xenses is all about, you guessed it; your senses. Xenses itself is a smaller park than Xplor or Xcaret, you will roughly spend here half a day, the tickets are also cheaper and you won’t get free lunch as well. However, the park itself is worth a visit for sure. When we entered the park, we got an armband for taking pictures, every Xcaret park has this. There are cameras all o ..read more

During the Corona crisis it is much harder to visit each other, hence we started planning our holiday together way earlier than normally. We knew that at any moment this could have been canceled. Yet we hoped for the best. So to make sure I would not infect anyone of Andrea’s family just incase I brought the virus with me. We decided to stay in a luxerious all in resort. The Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya. Everything was taken care of, from the airport we had a shuttle (we had to wait a long time, but eventually we got transfered alone to our hotel). The check in process was different, indoor ..read more

With the current Corona pandemic still in full swing, more and more people are required to stay home as a safety precaution because they might or have been infected with Corona/Covid19. I have been in this situation myself so will let you know my take on how to make sure you will get through this situation as best as possible. Keep healthy paterns It is paramount to make sure you stay as healthy as possible. Andrea and I never thought that we would not be able to see each other for such a long time, my last visit was in February 2020, nearly 9 months later it finally was our time again though. However with the pandemic still going on, I was never sure I was actually allowed to go and see my fiancée even on the day of traveling. The feeling of seeing your future partner after such a long time is Indescribable, I was so happy once I got in the plane to Mexico City and once I finally landed (going to the standard border checks was no problem at all) I was tired and excited at the same time. Tired of ..read more
