  India's government has announced a long term $82 billion plan to invest in the nation's seaports.   The master of the bulk carrier Tertnes died during a voyage out at sea due to Covid-19 complications. She was sailing to Norway to the Port of Dover. A post-mortem report sugested death due to coronavirus. On February 24, as Tertnes was under way in international waters en route to Dover, she made a distress call to Norway's Main Rescue Center and requested assistance.  January 18, 2018 The Marshall Islands-flagged tanker MT Barrett and its 22 crew members have been released from captivity after a six-day ordeal, UK-based tanker owner and operator Union Maritime informed. Thankfully all the crew is safe. Vessel owner efforts and negotiations led to peaceful release of the crew and the vessel. Stena bulk shipping company’s chief executive officer has appealed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally intervene to negotiate with Iran in order to secure release of its vessel Stena Impero. Senior Marine pilot captain V.P. Gupta fell from the The Pilot ladder while boarding the ship on 10th August 2019 at Mumbai inner Anchorage in India. He slipped from the pilot ladder while climbing to board the ship M.T. FUJI Galaxi. After falling he went missing and could not be traced. Although the cause of the accident is not clear, it is believed that he was probably hit by the bow of the boat in which he had arrived.
