Philly Shipyard Inc., the sole operating subsidiary of Philly Shipyard ASA (Oslo: PHLY), and South Korea’s HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (a subsidiary of HD Hyundai Group, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore a potential business relationship relating to future U.S. government shipbuilding projects as well as maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) projects. U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland used the Oceantic Network’s 2024 International Partnering Forum, currently under way in New Orleans, to announce a new five-year offshore wind leasing program and to report that the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) have finalized updated regulations for renewable energy development on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). In a customer advisory released today, Maersk says that the opening of the new third temporary access channel to Baltimore could potentially allow it and other carriers to operate limited barge services into and out of the Port of Baltimore. Kerns smashes ceremonial champagne on the Vaneta Marie. On Friday, Muddy Water Dredging LP, based in Orange, Texas, held the christening ceremony of its new Marlin Class dredge, the Vaneta Marie, at the Port of New Orleans. The custom 24-inch dual pump Marlin Class dredge is one of the largest of its kind in the United States to maintain U.S. navigable waterways.
