In the Home Stretch

Have you ever been at a place in your life where you've been waiting on the Lord, waiting on the Lord, and waiting on the Lord...firmly sure and confident that He's going to come through but it's been a while? I have learned through trial and error that though you may have thought differently, He is and always has been your only option. That is exactly where I am in my life today, but I want to share some good news with you. A word that the Lord spoke to me one morning more than a year ago is still applicable today - to me as well as to you. He said, "You're in the home stretch!" That was a s ..read more

Obedience

Today's title is a word many people are not trying to hear.  That's unfortunate though because it ranks quite high on the list to receive from the Lord.  Do you reward your disobedient children?  Well then, what makes you think He will reward His?  Merriam-Webster defines obedience as "an act or instance of obeying".  The Greek word for obedience, Hupotasso, breaks this thing down in biblical terms.  It defines obedience as:to arrange under, to subordinate to subject, put in subjection to subject one's self, obey to submit to one's control to yield to one's admoni ..read more

Persistent Faith Doesn't Let Go

Persistent faith is not very easily put into words. It is a force that rises up on the inside of you and refuses to give up, back down, or change its confession even when what is readily seen before you looks utterly impossible. It's the kind of faith defies the words of the doctor when he tells you that you only have 28 days to live, and you're still here to tell the world about it. Ask Evangelist LeShae McKinney (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9xoiEd8axg). It's the kind of faith that stands believing for a $100,000 to purchase your very first broadcast television station. The deadline bef ..read more

Do You Want to be Made Well?

Do You Want to be Made Well? When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” John 5:6 After the Lord gave me this scripture and as I went to find my corresponding picture to prepare to write this post, I heard Holy Spirit say within me, 'Sadly that's the question I have for many of My children.' When He said that, I saw that passage of scripture that I have read so many times before in a totally different way. What was revealed to me is that Jesus was actually saying to the man, look you've been lay ..read more

The Consequences of Unforgiveness

I am revisiting an article from a lesson I taught the sisters in our women's group at my church. Some of it has been changed because many of the things we discussed do not apply to the general population, but the meat of this article is relevant to everyone. I have had quite a few intense conversations with the Lord regarding unforgiveness. In this particular conversation I was asking Him why forgiveness was so hard for some people. It wasn’t something I could easily relate to as I have always been a very forgiving person for as long as I can remember. The next morning the Lord said to me ver ..read more

It is amazing how life is ever-changing, ever evolving, taking us to places we would have never imagined. As I was looking through pictures trying to decide which one would represent me on my blog, The Vocal Christian, I ran across this picture of myself as a baby. I smiled looking at that cute little baby face, focusing in on the fact that, "that's me"! I decided this would be my blog picture and then I heard the Spirit of the Lord say "The Vocal Christian on The Vocal Christian". I knew exactly what He was talking about and got excited in my spirit. I was to write an article about myself. I ..read more

Let Patience Have Her Perfect Work

I have been in a place of spiritual growth for these past few months that have really caused me to expand my thinking, believe God on a higher level, and stretch my faith. About a year or so ago the Lord said to me, "I want you to have outlandish faith." I thought He was just making a suggestion. It didn't occur to me that whatever God speaks must come into existence. He has allowed a series of events to occur in my life that are taking me directly to that place of outlandish faith that He spoke over my life. When He said that to me, I said, "Outlandish?" I looked the word up. It means: ridic ..read more
