To Madrid and back in 5 hours British Airways announced their new business class offering, known as Club Suite which effectively replaces the older Club World seat. The first aircraft to be fitted with the new Club Suite is their brand new Airbus A350 which started flying the Dubai and Toronto routes from 1st September 2019. Part of the certification process for this new aircraft meant BA flying the A350 to Madrid for a few weeks to train the crew. I decided to give it a go and flew back to back one evening so my itinerary was: 15.30 - arrive at London Heathrow Terminal 5 First Wing 15.40 - gu ..read more

Marrakech or Marrakesh depending on the spelling in your part of the world was never over my bucket list until I heard about this new uber-luxury hotel by Mandarin Oriental. Rather than the traditional two-week summer vacation, a few years ago we tried breaking up our summer with two shorter holidays, one in July and one in August, and it worked well, so we did it again this year. Getting there 2.30am With a flight time of 6.30am on this July morning, this was the earliest start we've ever had for a family holiday. The kids were super excited, and we had everything ready by the front door, so ..read more

British Airways has a global network of BA branded lounges and third party lounges for their premium passengers. I used the Galleries First lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 3 when flying to Barcelona. I usually fly from Terminal 5 so this was my first time in the T3 lounge. Entry criteria The Galleries lounge is for business class (Club World/Club Europe) passengers and silver cardholders of the British Airways Executive Club, also know as BAEC. The Galleries First lounge is for gold members travelling in any cabin and also passengers flying First Class or FIRST as BA call it. There is no C ..read more

Review: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Tunnel Club

Last night I went to the UEFA Champions League match, Spurs vs Manchester City at the incredible Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This was the second match with the first team playing and what an evening it was. Ignoring the scoreline for a moment, the atmosphere, the food, the noise, the fans, the atmosphere (did I mention that already) was electric and enough to intimidate any opposition. When: Tuesday 9th April 2019, 8 pm kick-off Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, NW17, London This was my third time at the stadium since it opened, once for the Legends test game, once for our Premiership win over ..read more

On Wednesday evening, I went to the opening ceremony and first Premiership game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A lot of people quote £1 billion, but actually, that includes the full site redevelopment including hotel and other facilities. The stadium itself cost £850 million. When: Wednesday 3rd March 2019, 7.45 pm kick-off Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, NW17, London Getting to the Stadium Assuming the worst of the traffic, I headed off from Hertfordshire early and the first 30 minutes were pretty clear on the roads. I was pleasantly surprised when we turned left onto the High Street in ..read more

Yesterday I went to the second test event at Tottenham with my eleven-year-old son and youngest daughter, nine. The event was to prepare for their opening first team game at the new stadium, next Wednesday evening against Crystal Palace. I'd been to the stadium a few times during construction to look at seating options, but nothing could prepare me for the experience I had yesterday. When: Saturday 30th March 2019, 5.30 pm kick-off Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, NW17, London What is the H Club The H Club is the ultimate premium option at Spurs' new stadium except for one, which is unpublis ..read more

It was five years ago when I discovered my love of watches and bought my first 'proper' timepiece. I was in New York for meetings about expanding a Vegas events business into Manhattan, and something caught my eye while walking past an IWC shop on Fifth Avenue. I went in to take a closer look and entered a world designed for a relaxed and comfortable luxury shopping experience. A handful of watches displayed around the spacious store with strategically placed couches, whisky cantilevers and books about Concorde, Ferrari, Aston Martin and other premium brands. “You’re buying into a luxury ..read more

This live pitching event was organised by Crowdboost, the accelerator for start-ups looking to the crowd to scale and the seven companies presenting were part of the fifth cohort for Crowdboost. This was my second time in as many weeks watching founders pitch for crowdfunding investors. When: 26th March 2019, 18:00-21:00 GMT ..read more
