By Petko Parapanov ,SIGN THE PETITION HERE " On September 8th our beloved, innocent and shy cat Pisana, who was my first ever pet and I’m currently 20, never came back home for a terrible reason. Pisana was never officially our cat as it was the neighbours cat however, she lived with us continuously for months and the neighbours did not say anything or mind as our garden walls are right next to each other and the cats would often be right in front of their door, both their and our garden doors would often be open at the same time and we never kept the cats from going there or anywhere, and I ..read more

''I have seen cats and dogs in paperwork be referred to as RGU's - Revenue Generating Units'' ~ Professor Noel Fitzpatrick (Super Vet) It all began when Lind tragically lost Rosa (pictured) in 2018. She strongly believes that everything surrounding Rosa's case was mishandles, so she began doing some digging into everything. Her findings led her to refuse to take legal action against the vets, as she found that it was more a case of the 'system' being to blame, not the individual vets. She discovered that it is not the veterinary nurses, or even the practices themselves, that are to blame, but ..read more

Guest blog by Elizabeth and Janet When my sister Janet and I adopted our two cats Ghost and Isis from Dundee Cats Protection we little realised just how much our lives were going to change. They have completely taken over the house and are much loved in the area where we live. Because we got them near the end of September 2017 keeping them in for six weeks meant we ran into Bonfire night so we had to keep them for another week. Unbeknown to us Ghost had been sitting on the window ledge looking out like he was a prisoner so on release day everyone in the street knew who he was and where he liv ..read more

Owners found not to have microchipped their cat after that date will be given a 21 day warning to have one implanted or face a fine of up to £500. Following the successful petition by Olivia on behalf of Dart, a debate on the subject of cats that are hit by cars being made a reportable offence took place on January 9th. For those who missed the debate, we have some great news to report back Firstly, we were so pleased to see the level of support from the Minister and MPs, and felt it was a really constructive debate. RTAs, microchipping and scanning are very closely linked, and we were happy to see all of them being discussed in the debate with some great ideas put forward. The Petitions Committee carried out a public engagement exercis ..read more
