This 1870 House is the story of renovating a Victorian terrace on a DIY budget, low-waste principles and a very steep learning curve. Easy-to-follow DIY techniques and tutorials (the kind that don't assume you already have your own circular saw - and know how to use it) will help you answer the all-important question: should I do this myself? We'll also talk trends, indulge in some..

If 2021 was the year Amazon changed the fashion game, 2022 will be the for home decor. Look no further for the best Amazon home decor finds. With thousands of independent sellers (and suppliers to your favourite high street brands!), there’s plenty treasure to unearth. If you have the patience to trawl through the…erm, less good stuff.
But if you don’t, never fear! I’ve found some of my favourite pieces to start 2022 off. We’re ticking off some of the trends that are sticking around – Grecian ceramics, dried flowers and rattan are going nowhere. And some of the new looks emerging for 2022 – bl ..read more

So, the jigsaw is finally complete. You’re sick of the sight of your sourdough starter. And that adult colouring-in book you got three Christmases ago turned out to be as unfulfilling as you always suspected. It’s time to find a pass-time that you’ll actually enjoy while also making your home more beautiful in the process. These home decor crafts are a great place to start.
There are tons of crafts and activities you can do at home, for your home. You can get your hands messy to make a beautiful clay vase. Or you could learn textile arts to create a macrame wall hanging.

This week marked the fifth month of full-time working from home in our house since we were sent home from our respective offices in mid-March. Back then, we were cavalier – perhaps even optimistic – about how a bit of home working. We do this a day a week or so already! We love our home! Perhaps we’ll get more done than before!
Reader, it did not go like that. Of course it didn’t – it’s been months of a terrifying, dreadful, tragic global pandemic taking lives and liberties and it continues to rage on. And while we were lucky to have worked throughout lockdown – our incomes secure – our cobble ..read more

Exposed brickwork is an interior design showstopper – it can show off the character of your home, add dramatic texture and create a focal point in any room. Depending on your home and your brickwork, it can be an authentic period feature, a grungy industrial accent or an ultra modern feature.
But getting there can be a tricky, messy job. How do you expose a rendered brick wall or chimney breast? How can you strip paint from brickwork? Can you lighten dark or bright red brick with whitewash? Do you need to seal exposed brick?
This guide walks through all the different scenarios, what exposed br ..read more

Cocoon chairs, eggs chairs, hanging chairs – whatever you call them, the trend for suspended, partly-enclosed garden seating has taken off in the last few months. With most of us spending more time at home right now – and with spells of sunny weather keeping us in our gardens – they’re a must-have item.
But they can come with a hefty price tag, so you want to be sure it’s right for you before you invest. I bought a cocoon chair near the start of lockdown (this one!) after coveting one for ages, and it’s given me more joy than any other home purchase over the last few weeks and months.

The art of a people is a true mirror to their mind – Jawaharlal Nehru. If interior design is the process of painting our personalities and preferences onto our homes, then hanging art we love on our walls is one of the clearest ways of crystallising that thing we call ‘taste’.
But collecting Real Art can be an expensive endeavour, and rather than keep the rest of the walls bare until we can afford to invest in more, I like affordable prints in cheap frames. There are plenty of these print on demand shops now, but not all are created equally. Below are places I’ve personally bought prints from ..read more

When the jigsaw is finally complete, you’re sick of the sight of your sourdough starter, and that adult colouring-in book you got three Christmases ago has turned out to be just as unfulfilling as you always suspected – it’s time to find a lockdown pass-time that you’ll actually enjoy.
Choose something with a finished product you’ll love, but that doesn’t have such a high barrier to entry that you’ll need to spend hours on YouTube tutorials before you can even get started.
I’ve chosen some of my favourite sets, kits and DIY activities from across the web. At the time of writing, all are in sto ..read more

The key to an undone, bohemian bedroom styling comes down to the room’s centrepiece: your bed. Scroll through your Instagram or Pinterest feed and they’ll likely be filled with perfectly imperfect, effortlessly layered, delicately colour-coordinated bedding collections.
Creating your own isn’t difficult – and now that big high street interiors brands like H&M, Urban Outfitters and La Redoute have stepped into the bed linen game – it needn’t be costly.
How To Style A Boho Bed
Start with the right textures. Rather than cotton, which is a little one-dimensional, choose textures with depth ..read more
