I have done a lot of thinking lately. You hear that God always knows and to pray and God will give. Many people have a hard time doing just that. I will admit I have been one of those people. There are so many people that need a lot more help than I do, why should God give me more? I do what I can, as a single mom, to make a living, and I always wonder how I can do more to earn more. Oh, how I needed the rest. I have pretty well worn myself down over the last couple of weeks. Stressing the small things, moving into a new place, figuring out bills. I spent a large portion of the weekend sleeping. It felt wonderful. The kids were actually calmer than usual. I think getting them out of the chaos of the apartments we were in is making a difference already. They are learning to settle down. They are learning that life doesn’t always have to be Go Go Go. It seems kids these days aren’t writing notes anymore. They rely more on more on social media messages and text messages. When I was young I worked hard on writing neatly so those letters to my friends were nice and neat and I felt it helped me make a good impression. What if we could get our children to write more? This will improve their writing, their spelling, and even their grammar. Using a phone or computer to write, spelling, improper grammar, etc., will be corrected for you without having to use much thought. If your kids are like mine, homework is not something they want to do after school. Mine want to have a snack, run outside and play, eat dinner, and relax and watch tv before going to bed. I, for one, know I don’t want to work all day and go home and do more work. I want my children to learn that I know how to separate my own home life from work life. Quality time is so important. How about we make homework fun and bond, as well… But how do we do that? I hurt, especially my legs (specifically my knees), but everything has been moved out of the old apartment. Friday morning I went for an interview and picked up my boyfriend to go to U-haul to get the truck. We got back to the apartment and my mom and sisters were at the apartment to surprise me and help me move my things so that I didn’t have to do it alone (Thank Goodness). So, my daughter told me the other day that her little friend, I believe is 7 or 8, has a boyfriend. She acted a little jealous, not that she has a boyfriend, but that her friend is spending more time with him that he is with her. But, she then made the comment “But she doesn’t know that he’s cheating on her”… Oh my, I had to hide the little chuckle that wanted to come out. Friday I am moving from the apartment I am in now in Louisville, KY to a townhouse in Radcliff, KY. The move puts me further away from where I work, but the area is better, the school is better, I am gaining a garage and a driveway, and I am hoping to move my littles further from the bad influence of the children where we are now. How many of us wonder, if we, as parents, are doing it all wrong? Oh my, I sure do. Every time my kids make a mistake I wonder what I did wrong to cause the behavior.
