PROCRASTINATION!!! What an ugly word. And I haven’t met a single person immune to this disease. Man oh man. It’s an epidemic. How bad is yours? What is it about not getting to things that need to be gotten to? Leaving it till the last minute, or sometimes even after the last minute. I can’t remember the last time I got to something as soon as it arrived on my plate. It always gets done but damn, would be so much more wonderful if it wasn’t under the pressure of a deadline. I always say, I do my best work while under pressure, which in no way is a lie. But an addition to that truth is that I ..read more

Imagine a life where everything goes as planned from the day you are born. You wake up and everything you wanted and expected went off without a hitch. Every day. Wonderful right? Perhaps? Now think about it like this. You wake up every morning, and every aspect of how your day pans out just as you planned and expected. Everything goes as predicted. Wonderful still? Who wants to be predictable? BORING. And I don’t know about you, but life has a tendency to move away from being boring. If there is something that knows how not to go as planned, it’s LIFE. So for those of you who read ..read more

This is something that I’ve been hearing quite often in the last few weeks while going through a bit of life turmoil. But somehow struggling to comprehend what it means. What is self-love? At first, the answers seemed simple. I spoil myself with a new outfit every once in a while. I’m very chuffed with myself when I see my children smiling. I take a time out and go to the spa or play a round of golf. All these things make me feel good about myself, so I’m loving myself right? Turns out, it’s not that simple. Having self-love is a little bit more complex than that. And it takes a little b ..read more

It was the second day of my trip and it was bucketing down with rain from the time we arrived the night before. Proper deluge. The plan was to visit Ephasus, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Temperature was approximately 12 degrees, and for us South Africans, we don’t usually move when it’s that cold. Yeeessshhh. So what now? We were only going to be in the town for 3 days, and the forecast for the rest of the week wasn’t looking any better. We get to the destination. We drive through puddles that resemble lakes, however the rain lets up for a bit. It’s still freezing, but we came somewhat dre ..read more

I’ll do it when I’m rich

How many times have I heard this, and in actual fact how many times have I said it myself. What is being rich anyway? Here I am sitting in an Airport Business Lounge, being waited on with all you can eat food and drink. How does things like this happen to someone like me. I’m waiting to board an international flight, business class I might add, for a two week trip overseas. Isn’t this what rich people do. I remember thinking about travelling from a young age, but it was almost something that only rich people do. Business class and Airport Lounges, must be for mega rich then. But I’m most ce ..read more

Another day another dollar. Or is it another day in a hostage situation? I find myself driving into work everyday, not sure if it can be called driving actually. I think the term TRAFFICKING should be the word used for that commute rather than driving. Which is such an appropriate term, because once you finally get to the destination you feel a sense of relief to be then walking into a “hostage situation”. Relieved to be walking into a drudgery where while “working”, the next thing you look forward to is to get back into that TRAFFIC to get home. Then you get home and you can’t function bec ..read more

So I found myself sitting in a coffee shop at 9am on a Monday morning after dropping the kids off at school. How did I get this lucky? #lifegoals I don’t remember running into a leprechaun, or finding a four leave clover, or even a bird shitting on me. So is it really luck? What is luck anyway? I found a definition which reads as, “success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one’s own actions.” What chances did I take? I took a chance submitting my CV in the form of a job application. I took a chance to go for an interview. I took a chance on answering the questio ..read more
