Have you heard about baked oatmeal? It’s magical. I first heard about it on TikTok.
I watched as the TikTok creator blended a few ingredients together—oats, an egg, a splash of milk, cocoa powder, and a few other items. She popped the mixture in the oven and when she pulled it out, it was like one of those gooey lava cakes you order to finish off your meal at a restaurant.
Baking oatmeal was the life hack I needed.
“What else could I blend together and turn into a cake?” I wondered. I went to TikTok’s search bar and typed in baked oatmeal to find out.

My last impulse purchase was something I said I’d never get.
And yes, this is relevant to ecommerce content writing, so don’t skip this part.
Here’s what happened.
My dog had just come inside from playing in the backyard and with her, she brought a smattering of pine needles, grass clippings, and bits of dead leaves.
It fell from her fur onto the floor as she trotted into the house.
Like clockwork, I lugged out our vacuum hose. It was the fourth time that day, and I knew it wouldn’t be the last.
I love my dog dearly, but the vacuuming was excessive.

There’s a few non-negotiables if you run a business, but here’s one: as an entrepreneur, you need to spend time learning, all the time.
Some people enjoy taking courses, others enjoy reading books. I prefer the latter, and if you do too, I’ve put together a list of the best books I’ve read lately that have helped me grow professionally or personally.
Side: I’ve listed the books using my affiliate links meaning if you choose to buy any of the recommendations, I will make a commission. It’s also worth mentioning to check your local library first to see if any of ..read more

People grow and change. Change can be scary but it can also be good for you.
Five years ago I was working in an accounting department and thinking of taking my CPA exam to become an accountant.
Today, I’m doing the total opposite as a designer and content creator.
But I’m thankful for both careers and the change that came with them.
Maybe when you started your blog you felt empowered and motivated to really do it. But blogging isn’t easy.
Maintaining a good blog means doing lots of research, writing a ton, sitting isolated at your computer for hours and tryi ..read more

As a savvy creator, you know the importance of your email list and how crucial it is to grow a list with targeted subscribers.
In other words, you don’t just want anyone signing up to be on your list.
You want people who are in your community. People whose vision and values align with yours.
Creating email opt-ins—also known as freebies, content upgrades, or lead magnets—is a simple way to supercharge your email list growth.
An email opt-in is something free that adds additional value to your blog post, that your readers can get in exchange for their email addres ..read more

It’s true that if you’re not on the first page, you’re not going to get many—if any—clicks to your content.
Optimizing your blog posts for search is one of the best ways to generate on-going traffic for years to come. Some of my most popular blog posts are posts I wrote years ago, that still bring in traffic today.
Although it can take time—nearly a year—for search engines to rank your articles and send you traffic, it’s good practice to optimize all your posts for search.
Let’s take a ..read more
