Northern Plunder is a personal book blog which was created in October 2011 due to Laurens love for books. Her hopes were to create a space on the web where she could share her thoughts and opinions on books she has read, provide recommendations, and to take part in various book challenges and events whilst also being able to interact with fellow book bloggers.

Dear reader,
There is a storm brewing, leaving its mark on the world; much like the opening to Gallant. Today, on the day of Gallant’s release, we’ve collated eight letters for you to learn of the fateful events that took place on Gallant’s estate, on its grounds and beyond, and to the Prior’s. Meet us at the garden wall. You will be safe, as long as you stay away we cannot wait to welcome you.

The many books we started 2022 with
Hello and happy very belated New Year! We’re bringing our first post of 2022 to you all today, and we’ll be taking a look at our January wrap-ups. This month was a great reading month for both of us, so we’ll be discussing our favourites, new releases, books we’ve been waiting for for a long time… and of course, not discussing a few books we can’t talk about just yet…
P.S. You can all blame Lauren that this didn’t go live in a timely matter, she simply decided to not exist for a little while longer.

It Took Me Eleven Years to Finish The Lord of the Rings
and it took me, Lauren, eleven years to edit this post for you all to read! Gail has written a lovely piece about their experience with The Lord of the Rings.
I have a complex and personal history with The Lord of the Rings. My immediate family are all LOTR fans of some kind or another, and I was raised not only on The Hobbit but also on vivid stories of my mother reading the books late at night and being convinced that the trees outside her window, swaying in the wind, were nothing less than Ents, trees come to life in her backyard.

It’s time to kick off our Spooks and Tea posts with a recommendation list from Allie! This year, Allie’s bringing us two recommendation lists in one this year, featuring both books and movies that are perfect for spooky season.
Spooooooky Halloween everyone! Long time, no blog. It’s that time of the year where I crawl out of my hidey-hole and throw book and movie recommendations at you, only to retreat back into my hole for another year.
This year made it really hard to find new TV shows to suggest, so we’ve decided to cut down the list to just fifty books and twenty-five movies. I hope you f ..read more

Baby Teeth by Meg Grehan | Blog tour
We’re coming back today with a post from Meg Grehan, who’s sharing a playlist with us inspired by her latest book, Baby Teeth! You all know we love a vampire story, and not only is Baby Teeth just that, but it’s also sapphic and written by an Irish author – two other things that we always love to prioritise in our reading choices.
Now, to hand over to Meg!
