My sister wanted to try Alamat (Legend) Filipino Pub & Deli. Since it’s her birthday, we all went to the glass Bahay-kubo (nipa hut), along Aguirre Avenue in BF Paranaque.
They have modern ethnic interior, Instagram worthy. Their set menu is uniquely done, Filipino food with a twist (Bicolano, Cebuano etc.,) accommodating staff.
We ordered a lot but not everything is available. I liked their smokey sausages, gising-gising (pork in coconut milk) and their version of dinuguan (pork blood stew). After eating we were craving for something sweet. Unfortunately there is only ..read more

I thought my year started out okay. There was this one overnight trip to an island in Batangas with my Cookery group. And then a one day road and swimming trip with my Food and Beverage group. News on an NCoV outbreak in China, I thought was not that concerning that I even went to Leyte for a week of adventure. I was having a blast, but little do I know that a Quarantine was being implemented by the Philippine government. Luckily, I was able to go home before it came into effect.
Now life is so surreal. It is like the movies that we used to watch, now happening in real life ..read more

One of my girl pal invited me for lunch at Blue Ginger in Sucat.
Upon arriving the place the interior looks familiar. It is inviting and cozy just like Tiger Leaf, Another Story at Evia and Café Voila in Tagaytay. While waiting for my friend to arrive I was enjoying and appreciating Instagram worthy interior.
When she arrived we just ordered pasta & spring rolls, still both full from breakfast. We were chatting away, since we haven’t seen each other for quite sometime and taking photos for our other friends to see. We had a lovely time and lunch worth for spending.

Three weeks ago I asked my cousin to go with me to Quezon City. Since we are not both familiar with the place we wazed it all through out, what do you know! Even wazing it we still got lost!
We went around Garcia St. UP in particular thrice. Instead of getting pissed getting lost we were laughing ourselves out. We always get ourselves in a funny situation everytime we drive in an unfamiliar location. After circling around we missed the U turn slot, which I may say quite dangerous. There is an open space construction ahead which if you are not familiar with the area you might e ..read more

I really like going to museums. It just gives me this quiet solitude where you can just stare at the colors, lines and materials used in each artwork. As such today, I and Bekka decided to take a walk at the National Museum of the Philippines.
We arrived at the main registration hall of the museum about an hour past lunchtime, after a dangerous jaywalk on the streets of Manila. But with the help of kuya ice cream cart, we made it safely. There was a security check for COVID-19. I was afraid that because of the hot weather and our little walking trip going there, my temperatur ..read more

Its been a while since my last blog, I missed writing and sharing our experiences here in our site. Last Tuesday my cousin and I decided to go to Metropolitan Museum. I wanted to explore, Manila for a change. After the exhibit we decided to eat at Ilustrado to experience dining, Old Manila style.
Ilustrado is a family-run business with an ‘Old-Manila’ setting. One of Ilustrado’s key selling points is its Hispanic architecture fit for intimate luncheons and a memorable venue place for events.
It was satisfying lunch, we ordered callos, morcon and for desert, I wanted to tr ..read more

After the dark tight hole of a cave opening at the Japanese Hideout. We headed to the one of the beautiful scenic beach, Valugan Boulder Beach. It is my first time to see a beach pebbled by big and small boulder rocks. The dark rocks constrasting with the colod bluish sea and whitish foam of the crashing waves. It is a serene and tranquil place. I’m pretty sure I could just seat at stare and listen to it for long hours if given the chance. But alas, we had to move on to our next destination.
We were next brought to the Basco Lighthouse. As we drove closer and closer, its soli ..read more

My mom was invited to travel with her friend to Batanes. And because she had never been there, she happily agreed to go with me in tow. It was a memorable day since it was the week of Valentines, one wonderful February day. We met our travel companions at the airport. There were almost no hassle. Tickets checked. Bags checked. Seating assignment both window seats, so a small issue because we were not seated beside each other; but it was fine since it was a short flight to the small island in the northernmost tip of the Philippine Archipelago. So checked.
The flight was wonde ..read more
