SIRs Party Get Down with Bobby During Zero Gravity Tour in Manila

I was at work when I found out that Bobby from iKON will have a solo concert in Manila. I was excited because I know that it’s gonna be a lit show knowing that he’s “THE KING OF YOUTH”! But also hesitant after seeing my bills to pay. It also did not help when a few weeks later iKON released a ticket selling for their Get Back Tour in Manila. I wanted to attend both if I could but I only have a budget for one. I had to contemplate a lot before I could have made my final decision that I didn’t notice that Bobby’s concert was just a week away. A few days before Bobby’s concert, I s ..read more

Travel Guide in Bali Indonesia
Karen Meets World

I travelled to Bali Indonesia last April 16, 2023 along with my cousins for a 6-day vacation trip. It was actually my first international travel after the pandemic and to be very honest I am not prepared for this trip. Like I have not made enough research about Bali and what we needed for the trip aside from the essentials. All I know was that Bali was known to have many temples and beaches, and that we need a vaccination card. That’s it. What to Prepare for a Trip to Bali Indonesia? I’m not fully hands-on for this trip unlike all of my other trips since I am traveling with my family ..read more

Road to Seventeen’s Be the Sun Concert in Bulacan

Being able to watch Seventeen’s “Be The Sun” Concert was not an easy feat. It was a cycle of hope, frustrations, acceptance, and hope again. Honestly, I never expected that I would see them again this year because of how hard the ticket selling was. You know before, buying tickets online was our preferred mode for getting concert tickets because we have tools (an internet and a gadget) and we spend less for not going out. But now, it’s different. You need to fall in line at SM Stores / Ticketnet Outlets just to get a ticket (well at least there’s more chances there) because buying online will ..read more

Yugyeom Live in Manila Concert
Karen Meets World

I’m back on the concert scene!!! Yay!!! After 2 years of not being able to watch a concert in Manila, I’m finally attending one! In fairness, I actually missed this – the adrenaline, and the fangirl feels!!! AAaahhh!!! I think the last concert I’ve attended was Pentatonix in Manila. It was actually during the early pandemic in 2020. When our team were listing down our coverage assignments for 2022, I immediately volunteered for #YugyeominManila. I cannot say ‘no’ to him because he’s like a family to me(like Got7 and AOMG Family, if you know what I mean)! Plus, Yugyeom was a versatile artist ..read more

Birthday Giveaway : Acts of Kindness
Karen Meets World

We had a blast over the new year and the celebration continues! Yay! We are off to my birthday week, and with that I plan to be kind to myself. You know, most of the time I’ve been tough on myself that I forget to show kindness. But starting this month it will be different, I will start appreciating small wins and be kind to myself. In fact, I have taken an initiative to allow myself to rest, binge-watch a series the whole day while munching my favorite snacks without feeling guilty. I’ve felt that it’s a big step for me to slow down and listen to my inner being. Also, as part of my appreciati ..read more

Life Audit: Reflecting on 2021
Karen Meets World

If I will be asked how my 2021 was, I would say that it was a test of our mental and emotional wellbeing. Uhhmmm… How do I explain this? It was like we were good physically but we were struggling mentally that it’s been draining. Thankfully, we’re stronger and we made it okay in 2021! Let me tell you more about it in my 2021 reflection below: FINANCE. My budgeting system has started to cope up with the economic impact of the pandemic that I was able to save money. It was not much as compared to what I save during pre-pandemic but it was enough for me to enjoy the Holidays. Truth to be t ..read more

I Got Vaccinated : Experience and Side Effects
Karen Meets World

Finally, I’m fully vaccinated! Yay! Honestly, it took me some time and a lot of thinking for me to be able to say “I’m ready to be vaccinated”. You know, I am one of those people who got afraid of having a vaccine because of the dark side effect stories I heard, read, and seen. We value our life so much so it was hard to take risks. Plus, I have this in mind that if I were to get a vaccine, it has to be Pfizer or none at all. Although, we cannot choose our vaccine and we have to get whatever is available on the day of the scheduled vaccination. First Dose of Vaccine June 5, 2021. It was around ..read more

2020 Life Review
Karen Meets World
by karenmeetsworld

It’s that time of the year again where I do my yearly review. I started doing yearly review in 2014 but I am only able to share it here in my blog in 2018. 2020 ended so fast but the events were unexpectedly saddening — the pandemic, volcano eruptions, earthquakes and floods. It happened one after the other that it really takes time for us to recover. Looking back, this year has brought a lot of changes in our lives starting from how we go about our day to day routine, how we communicate, to how we choose to enjoy life. The change was never easy and we were not ready for i ..read more

New Normal Christmas Celebration
Karen Meets World
by karenmeetsworld

Merry Christmas, Everyone!  I hope you enjoyed the Christmas celebration with your family and loved ones despite the constraints brought about by the pandemic. For us, we’ve spent a simple “Noche Buena” at our house, with just us three – my mom, my dad, and I, just like we always do. We’ve also just ordered foods from Amber so it will be portioned for three persons to avoid food waste. And took a family photo to be inserted on our photo album. Side note: Three hours before the clock strikes midnight, we heard a slight explosion on the outside post and our houses went on black o ..read more
