After I am booked now the fun really starts, I look on YouTube for all the videos on my cruise, the ship, and activities I want to do. I shop for Items, plan what I want to pack, look at excursions, find information on the ports. This is when I get excited because I can choose to do activities I have always dreamed of doing. There are fantastic tips and reviews, ship tours, and advice to be found. When I was researching my last cruise, I seemed to find lots, but I had no idea of the Iceberg of the information below the main surface the search engines turned up. I was sure I had to start up a ..read more

With the rising cost of living, people are finding they have to be creative with their vacation choices. Most can not afford to take a vacation and those who can weigh the cost involved. A 7-night driving vacation can vary in price as many factors apply, but a reasonable estimate is: - Meals 2 meals per day assuming the hotel you pick has breakfast included 4 ppl = 100.00/day (eating really cheap) total $700.00 - Accommodations (depends on where you travel) 4 ppl =150.00/ night(staying really cheap) total $1050.00 -Fuel cost is approximately $60.00/day(keeping close to home)Total $ 420.00 -Ac ..read more

Does Cabin Location Matter
Cruise Captain

To begin I will say I haven't tried all locations and cabin categories, so I can't speak for all. For some, a cabin is just a place to sleep, and they don't care about the type or location. For others choosing the right cabin could cause you to have a miserable cruise or turn a not so good time more manageable. If you're like me, you want the perfect vacation, and I tend to spend hours looking for the right cabin before I book. My favorite, along with the masses is mid ship with rooms above and below. I say mid ship cause of the access to aft and forward are the same distance. And I say rooms ..read more

I want to take a Cruise But I don't know how?

I left this title vague because there are soooooo many reasons why we don't know how we can take that cruise vacation. Reasons like not knowing what kind of cruise to take or thinking you can't afford to take a cruise to not having someone to cruise with and being scared of traveling on a ship etc. If there is a want, there is a way, and many people out there to help you to find that way. I see so many young people go thru life wishing they can take that vacation they just read about or saw an advertisement for only to put it behind them the next second because they think it is out of reach ..read more

If your anything like me when I was younger, I always wished I could take that cruise but could never afford it, a thousand dollars to me then was a thousand more then I had, or so I thought. I would walked into travel agencies and get the magazine brochures, (really dating myself here, I don't think they have them anymore.) and drooled about the places I wanted to go. ( I guess I like to torture myself.) Working for just above min wage and thinking that the twenty-somethings are when you're suppose to get out and enjoy life. But with working and having a family, my focus was on that, and my ..read more

We have all heard the horror stories of pier runners and those who have reached the dock as their ship is feet away from the pier already set sail. Yes, they missed the (boat). So how can you be sure this doesn’t happen to you. Pier runners might just get to the ship in time having to do the run of shame while the entire ship is jeering and calling from the decks. Sometimes it is due to their own mistakes, and sometimes it can’t be helped if tours turn out to run late for one reason or another. Then there are the pier runners that missed the ship by moments and are left standing there at the ..read more

There are many things you just don't do in public. And cruise ships are no exception, and sometimes one needs to be even more diligent when on a large secluded object out in the middle of nowhere contained with thousands of other people. I'm not just talking about picking your nose in public or scratching personal areas. But things you do at home you should NOT do on a cruise ship. There are also new habits you NEED to get into you might think don't matter. Cruise Buffets #1) While you might grab that roll with your hands at home don't even think about it at a cruise buffet. If you do, you be ..read more
