Hey Guys! I will be starting a series of recipe posts wherein I will be sharing with all of you, simple meal options that are not only healthy but tasty as well! Quinoa is something that I have been experimenting with since some time now and I have been in love with it ever since. I am dedicating my first post to this super-grain. But, wait….. what exactly is QUINOA? Quinoa is a gluten-free, whole-grain carbohydrate, as well as a whole protein (meaning it contains all nine essential amino acids). It has become popular in the international market and since some years we have seen a lot of rest ..read more

Gully Boy – First Thoughts
Renae Spirit
by PRYNKA DHRUV

Somewhere towards the finale of Gully Boy, a sadly disapproving Vijay Raz who plays Murad’s (Ranveer Singh’s) father says to his son with compassion in his eyes “Sapne aise dekho jo apni sachai se mel khaye” to which a confident Murad replies in his brute Mumbaiya lingo “Me apna sachai badlega, jo mere sapne se mel khaye”. That is pretty much what Gully Boy is about, changing the tide and changing one’s reality to match one’s dream. Set literally in the heart of Mumbai, in the slums of Dharavi, Gully boy is a poem dedicated to the city, to it’s people, to it’s culture and to it’s social reali ..read more

An Ode to Our Bravehearts

Heavy heart and heavy sighs, As we wake up to these cries, Unstoppable moist eyes, Lake of hope that never dries, Burnt to ashes, lifted to the skies, These mighty Bravehearts, Bidding us a goodbye, With one passing by, 100 more become alive, It’s a fight we cannot deny, Silence makers with loud thuds, Wish to crush our hearts, The soul within is Unbreakable, Housing a million iron darts, Each pointing now to, Peace Breakers, Trouble Makers, Life Takers, This shall not go on. These invaders do not belong, Our land, Our mother, For her, we do not deter, Before rose petals on those cas ..read more

Stepping into 2019

I was looking back at the year gone by as most of us do on the night of 31st December each year. Another year has gone by and has left us with a new tomorrow, a new beginning of sorts and something to look forward to. It’s a fresh start and the baggage of the past needs to be dropped and moved ahead with a lighter heart and a clearer mind to face the world better. For some of us 2018 would have been full of ups for some it would have been full of downs and for some it would have been a mix. What we all have in common are memories, both happy and sad that form a part of who we are and have shap ..read more

Turning over a new leaf

Life happens when you are busy planning it and this year was no different. I have learnt that what is meant to happen, shall and will, beyond your control. Sometimes we need to walk on a path of thorns not because we are weak but to realise the strength that may come from the most unexpected sources and use it in dealing with them. This December, this year was going to be a lot different than what it is right now and I couldn’t thank God enough for it. I have realised that things happen for the best and we must always look at the brighter side no matter what. Here’s to new beginnings. Here’s ..read more

As these winds pass by, I think to my self and don’t deny, Change occurs in spite of resistance, Transformation happens on your insistence. A new lesson everyday, Chapters written as my self watches from the bay. My heart feels new pain, Yet every touch is a healing gain. Isn’t this how life intends to be, Hazes our vision and gives the knowledge to see ..read more

Kedarnath – First Thoughts
Renae Spirit

Kedarnath is a done and dusted story of forbidden love in the back drop of opposing religions, caste issues and much much D(h)rama. The story begins with our hero Sushant, a Muslim Pithoo (Porter), probably purposely named Mansoor who transports pilgrims to and from Kedarnath. His bond with the Hindu lord is strong and that does not fail to show throughout the film. There are beautiful aerial shots of the valley and the cinematography is satisfying. Our debutante Sara is Mandakini aka Mukku, a vivacious free spirit who works for her father, a priest, at his hotel, hosting pilgrims. She cares a ..read more

Stop right there, Look around, Let’s not care, Kneel to the ground. . . Close your eyes, Take that deep breath, Forget the time spies, Feel the happiness stretch. . . There are greens and blues, And all kind of hues, Blossom and face, In the haze of present ..read more
