Are Big Tobacco’s RJ Reynolds, Altria, and Lorillard deliberately killing vaping?

In May 2016, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released new deeming regulations that essentially reclassified vaping devices as tobacco products.  This action allowed the FDA to regulate vapes the same as they do conventional tobacco cigarettes. To the average American, this seemed to make sense.  After all, the white, plume of vapor being produced from a JoyeTech vape mod looks exactly like the white cloud of smoke produced from a Marlboro tobacco cigarette.  By installing the same government regulations across both industries, the FDA can implement better quality co ..read more

According to the U.S. Centers from Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 50,000 people every year visit the emergency room for accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.  During last week’s cold snap throughout the Midwest, thousands of Texans took to their cars to say warm after the power grid failed for nearly a week and water pipes began bursting in residences and businesses across the state. At least 300 cases of carbon monoxide poisoning were reported in Harris County alone with at least two reported fatalities. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer.  Yet most Americans a ..read more

From outlandish rumors about e-cigarette vapor allegedly being laced with formaldehyde to wildly false accusations that the e-liquids used in vapes contain anti-freeze, the vaping industry often gets a bad reputation.  In fact, the spreading of disinformation over the past few years has led many daily smokers to rethink their decision to quit by switching to vaping.  Sadly, many are still active, daily smokers, no doubt. One of the most asked questions by vaping newcomers is, “Does vaping cause cancer?”  To be clear, there are multiple research studies which prove that vaping i ..read more

On December 27, 2020, Former President Donald Trump signed an appropriations bill into law will dramatically change the way the American vaping industry conducts business starting in April.   Buried deep inside that piece of legislation was an over 5000-page document which seeks to abolish the United States Postal Service (USPS) from delivering vapor products to private homes and perhaps all businesses, as well. Unfortunately, the devastating news does not stop there.  The new law also requires all manufacturers and retailers of vape e-liquids, devices, coils, tanks, and all ot ..read more

Throughout the 2020 presidential campaign, Joe Biden has repeated claimed that his administration will “follow the science” when making decisions about the coronavirus pandemic here in the United States.  When reporters ask questions on nearly any topic these days, the Biden Administration almost always includes a reference to science in its response. How will the Biden administration manage climate change?  Biden promises to follow the science.  When will schools be reopened 5-days a week?  Biden’s not sure yet, but he will definitely follow the science.  Should chil ..read more

The United Parcel Service (UPS) announced last month that the private delivery company will no longer be delivering vaping products to either individual homes or businesses beginning April 5, 2021.  The decision follows the passage of the Preventing Online Sales of E-Cigarettes to Children Act that was approved by Congress on December 20, 2020 and signed into law seven days later by former president Donald Trump. The vape mail ban will include all nicotine-enhanced supplies as well as “vape devices, products, and accessories, which presumably means even vaping coils and tanks will be pro ..read more

Early in 2016, Dr. Scott Gottlieb was appointed to Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and he immediately began labeling teen vaping as a national “epidemic.”  Gottlieb was lying.  Citing so-called evidence that the numbers of middle and high schoolers engaging in vaping was on the rise, the data he was citing was intentionally manipulated to fit his anti-vaping agenda.  Sure, the numbers were rising, but for two significant reasons.  First, the mass marketing of vaping products was still in its infancy stages.  Vaping had only just gone mains ..read more

Since winning his congressional seat in 2016, Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) has been a staunch anti-vaping advocate.  He has either sponsored or supported legislation to more aggressively regulate the sales of vaping products, including the recent vape mail ban law suspiciously buried deep inside the recent COVID-19 relief package.  Gottheimer seems to have also aligned himself with a clever coalition of political colleagues who are accepting campaign contributions from Fortune 500 companies in the tobacco sector while also owning stocks in various Big Tobacco conglomerates.  &nb ..read more
