We are still rolling the videocollaboration now for somewhat over two years. We are Marie from Sweden, Eleni from Greece and myself from Switzerland. We did exchange backgrounds on postcard format and now each month we sketch and paint a face on those given backgrounds. I did work on Maries Background this time I did start with some clear gesso. I have also used white gesso and black gesso, more as a paint, instead of acrylic paint. Then I went over with water colors. Besides that I have also used a Stabilo All (watersoluble) and a Posca Pen white. I decided to get inspired by the old masters ..read more

Today I work in Lena’s Journal again. For those who don’t know I did exchange a journal with Lena from Finland. So I work once a month in her journal and vice versa she works in my journal. Of course we both film the making of and put it up on Youtube. It is a Mini Collaboration, just the two of us, but quite fun to work in a journal from somebody else. Sometime you really have to give yourself a jolt to work over the existing artwork. My goal for this journal is to keep the vibe that Lena did put in her journal. Hope I do justice to it. Back to the todays page, I decided to use up all those l ..read more

Spring isn’t right here yet, but soon the roses bloom again in our garden:. So I decided to make a painting, a bouquet of roses to be specific on a 8 x 8 inch or 20 x 20 cm deep canvas. It is a deep canvas and as always I make sure that I have the painting going over the edge onto the sides also. I like to hang my paintings just like that without frame. But that is a personal preference, some people prefer to add frames and that is totally fine too. And by the way I do have a gallery here, where you can browse my paintings. If you are interested in buying one just check it out. If you hoover o ..read more

Bright and colourful Art Journal Page

Some days we just crave for bright and colourful Art, don’t we. Let me know if you agree. So for the Moocboard #31 curated by Gina B.Ahrens for the Artsy Trio I went full power with those colours. Mostly pinks, orange, yellow with some teal. I also added black and white, cause in my opinion it makes the color popping even more, especially if you add black or work on a black background. I do love bright and colourful most of the times, well there are times where I think I have to try more muted tones, but it usually doesn’t take to long for me to return to brights. It was a playful approach jus ..read more

Paint with me a cute mermaid

Welcome back to the next video. Today I have a cute mermaid, which I paint on some Mixed Media Paper with watercolor. In the end I go also over with some colored pencils. I would have prefered some thin watercolor paper, but I run out of it. The reason for the thin paper, I wanted to print my mermaid on a ordinary ink jet printer. Rather then transfer the sketch on to the watercolor paper. I have sketch the mermaid on some plain printer paper and did scan it and then over on Procreate I did clean up and modify a bit my mermaid. Now if you want to paint your own version then check out my Freebi ..read more

Today I have a little Mini Painting on a Mini Canvas. I did paint several samples for an upcoming class at CREAFAIR, a consumer show for Art and Craft supplies. I will have a booth there and also offer a one hour Mini Workshop. So if you happen to be in Zurich, come visit me. In the video I didn’t show the preparation for the canvas. Also they come pre-gessoed I tend to add one to two layers of gesso, just so the surface is smooth. It makes it easier to blend colors, the brush glides better on the surface. Besides the preparation for the CREAFAIR I’m also preparing for the #The100DayProject wh ..read more

Welcome back to my blog. For this new video I’m working in my very inexpensive notebook for the mood board Nr. 30. I did buy it at the beginning of this collaboration. It has rather thin papers, but I simply glue two pages together. You can find those kind of inexpensive journals everywhere. It doesn’t always have to be the expensive Art Journals from the Art Store. Also they have their place too. Besides that I have used some of my scrap papers, they are everything from gelli prints to collage papers, but also some old bookpages and magazine pages. To glue the collage down I did use a simple ..read more

In this video I’m working on Maries Background for #3girlsand12faces. I did use a chalk to sketch the face and then went over with Nero Soft from Cretacolor. Next I grabbed my acrylic paints and white Gesso. The colors I have used are white gesso, teal green, neonpink and a premade skintone. I like to use teal as shadows in my paintings, and for highlights I usually choose an offwhite. I also added some patterns again with the Nero Soft. I just wanted to add some patterning in her face. It is a timelapse, but if you have any questions, leave them in the comments ..read more

Thank you for stoping by. In this video I’m working again in Lena’s Journal. For those who don’t know, we did exchange journals last year and so we work in each others journal. For this time I decided to use up some small scraps I have in my pile and made a collage. It was a rather quick process, but we don’t always to have to spend hours in our Journals, sometime we just want to have a little break from our daily life and Art journaling i really the best, at least for me. Once the collage was done I also added a quote, which I have in my collection of saved quotes. I find them in all kind of ..read more
