It seems that spring has at long last made its way to the mountaintop - happy days indeed! We are not out of the woods yet, but our last snowfall has melted and soon the trees will be leafing out. We made it to March, friends, and in just over a week we change the clocks - woo hoo, spring is surely on the way!  Meanwhile we are still buried in snow on the mountaintop, but the light is changing in that beautiful way it tends to do in late winter.  I must be desperate for some outside time in the sunshine because I actually shoveled a path to my patio swing the other day.  That swing is placed in the perfect location to get the full impact of the winter sun in the afternoons. Happy New Year to my beautiful readers! I'm not even sure how many of you are still out there, my posts have been so sporadic since the start of the pandemic.  We are all safe and well, thankfully, although many of my family and friends have tested positive over the past 22 months. What a time this has been for us all - who would have thought a month ago that this odd virus floating around could become a national pandemic?  Even our remote little mountain top has been affected, with businesses closed from one end of Main Street to the other, and 5 confirmed cases in the area. Yesterday was a glorious day on the mountain top! The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and best of all......are you ready??  Drumroll please..... THE RED WINGED BLACKBIRDS HAVE RETURNED!!!!!!!! ViaThat means spring really IS around the corner!  When I came home from work there were two males in the big maple tree in my front garden.
