There are so many badass dads in video games. Here are some of my favorites:
Kratos From God Of War - Self-Explanatory
Vergil From Devil May Cry - Also Self-Explanatory
Joel From The Last Of Us - I know he's not Ellie's biological father but he does play that role quite effectively up until his dying breath.
What are your picks and why ..read more

Who are some of your favorite supporting characters in video games that you'd love to see get their own video game? I could probably go crazy discussing how most of the characters in Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 could easily star in their own video game. I'm assuming the next Red Dead will be a prequel, especially with RDR1 signaling the end of the wild west. I don't know if fans would want a RDR game without the wild west setting, it's part of its selling point. I'm sure you could set it in the future after RDR1, but it wouldn't be the same.
Anyway, to get back on subject, I think Charle ..read more

I'm sure all of us have had games we've been looking forward to for years only for them to massive disappointments on release. Here's a few games that make my list:
Star Wars Battlefront II - Caught up in the nostalgia of the original Battlefront games on the PS2, I was so confident this was going to be a hit that I pre-ordered. Needless to say, on launch it was a massive flop. That was also the last time I ever pre-ordered a game.
Cyberpunk 2077 - We were all gushing over this game years before its release and I almost pre-ordered it but I remembered my last experience with Battlefront. To s ..read more

Personally, my ranking are as follows:
Tekken 8 - It feels the most balanced out of the three, the most fun in terms of ranked matches and the most active.
Street Fighter 6 - Not as active as Tekken but most of the characters feel balanced.
Mortal Kombat 1 - Honestly, this feels like the most lacklustre out of the three - character imbalances are rampant, the characters aren't that interesting anymore and the game just lacks a lot of substance.
Do you agree with my rankings of these three? If not, I'd like to hear why you disagree with my rankings ..read more

When new consoles come out, do you tend to buy them when they first release or do you wait for the remodel or 'slim' model that comes out a year or so later?
For me, it depends if I can get my hands on the console or not. I'll probably buy the new xbox if I can get one when it launches and then see about the PS6. I know the PS5 Pro is out later this year and i'm on the fence about upgrading to it since the PS5 isn't my main gaming console ..read more

If you have multiple consoles, I'm sure you have multiple controllers laying around. Do you have an idea of how many controllers you own? If I had to guess across all consoles, I'd say probably around 60 total for me. I know that sounds like a lot, but I have a lot of consoles and usually own at least 2 controllers per console. How many controllers do you have in your game collection ..read more

I know that I've been gone from this forum for a while. I came back to talk about WRC 10. It has a great anniversary mode. In this mode you can relive old rally stages in historic rally cars. Similar to how Twisted Metal 4 was easier to beat than the earlier TMs, WRC 10 is far easier than it's predisessors. I do however find maintenance and training events to be more difficult than in WRC 9. Rock and leaf definition leave something to be desired, but I really like the look of the buildings. I could go on and on about WRC 10, but now I want to hear from ..read more

Doom is one of the most famous FPS games and was widely copied back in the day. There were many Doom clone games. I remember there being a Christmas themed Doom style game as well. But I imagine there was tons of obscure clones of the game. I know some people made their own versions of Doom too. Wasn't it like one of the the most pirated games ever? I just remember hearing about the game becoming shareware due to it, as pretty much every device ended up having a version of the game.
Anyway, Austin Eruption made a video dedicated to the lot of video games that tried to copy Doom, or at th ..read more

The article above discusses 24 video games that would never cut it today. There's a lot of games from Hatred, Custer's Revenge, The Guy Game, JFK Reloaded, and stuff like Super Columbine Massacre RPG that makes sense. Out of this list, what games would you say would never see the light of day again? Surprisingly there is no mention of Manhunt or its sequel, which I figure would easily be a top contender for this list.
I forgot in Left 4 Dead 2 it got some heat for having a New Orleans level not too soon aft ..read more

What are some good or even great games that had a horrible ending? There are a couple for me, the big one is probably Assassin's Creed III. I really enjoyed the game, most of the story and the setting, but the ending felt rushed and it was boring. For those wondering, you can read it below: Spoilers below:
You chase down your father in a burning ship, which ends with a cutscene where you take his life if I remember correctly. After that I think it's mostly cutscenes and going to a location as Desmond.
But to build things up, and end it like that, I thought was a disappoint ..read more
