“Christ heals with more ease than any other…” ~Thomas Watson

“Christ heals with more ease than any other. Christ makes the devil go out with a word (Mark 9:25). Nay, he can cure with a look—Christ’s look melted Peter into repentance; it was a healing look. If Christ does but cast a look upon the soul he can recover it. Therefore David prays to have a look from God, ‘Look upon me, and be merciful unto me’ (Psalm 119:132).” ~Thomas Watson ..read more

Suffering is Never for Nothing Quote (Elisabeth Elliot)

“When I was told that my first husband, Jim, was missing in Auca Indian country, the Lord brought to my mind some words from the Prophet Isaiah. “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee” (Isa. 43:2 kjv). I prayed silently, Lord, let not the waters overflow. And He heard me and He answered me. Two years later I went to live with the Indians who had killed Jim. Sixteen years after that, after I had come back to the states, I married a theologian named Addison Leitch. He died of cancer three and a half years later. There hav ..read more

Outside the Window and Inside Your Heart
Home Sweet Homemaking

Looking out the window we have our farm property pillowed in snow. There are two types of snow covering outside when it snows. We have the newly laid snow, where everything look so beautiful and white. The other type is not so magnificent, at least not if you are still imagining that white fluffy stuff that comes from the sky. The other type is the brown and muddy, where all the animals have left their marks; also add in the muddy boot prints from us humans. We are keeping these animals warm with fresh warm straw, as well as giving them fresh water and food. I have never been a fan of snow or ..read more

“How often we think we are trusting in the Lord, when really we are resting on comfortable circumstances; and when they become uncomfortable, how much faith have we?” ~A.W. Pink Just because I quote someone does not mean I 100% agree with everything this person believes or has to say. This being understood, please enjoy this quote and any others I will be sharing from now on ..read more

When God changes our plans
Home Sweet Homemaking

There is a reason Scripture states, “ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” ~Proverbs 3: 5-6 This is a reminder to not trust ourselves , but realize that God is in control, that God controls our lives, and that we need to stop leaning on our own wisdom and what we think we want to happen. We want something, but God says no. God says no?! But, isn’t God a loving God? Won’t be want me to be happy? If He wants me to be happy then he will have or Will this thing (that I want) to ..read more

“In the worst of life’s troubles, God is only a prayer away from us..”

“I cried unto the Lord with my voice; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication. I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors ..read more

New Year Resolutions (2019)
Home Sweet Homemaking

Happy New year everyone! Can you believe it is 2019 already?! Crazy huh? It has been suggested that I talk about my New Years Resolutions. This got me thinking, what do I want to work on? Should I even have New Year Resolutions when they don’t always (usually?) end up working out? A lot went through my brain as I considered this topic. There are pros and cons to doing this. So, I thought through both. Why I am not a fan of the whole resolutions idea. Why start at a specific time… why not start right now? I think a lot of people know they need to work on something, but wait until the begin ..read more

Life Update (December 2018)
Home Sweet Homemaking

I know that my last update was two months old when I posted it, but I didn’t just want to throw it out after I wrote it all out! So, here is an update “in real time”, haha! I have been driving for a while now and feel I am doing pretty good. I mainly just have to practice parallel parking and maybe specific turning techniques. I want to remain cautious as I drive; keeping an eye out to be careful and watchful of other drivers, pediatricians, and such as well. We recently had a realtor over and are still in the process of moving. Who know moving was such a process! I always knew moving was craz ..read more

True Joy Comes from God
Home Sweet Homemaking
by Esther Ruth
3y ago
I am daily being reminded that my joy, trust, and hope can not be on mere man. This is a hard thing for me. I love people, but I can’t hang on to people so tight. Only through Christ does that True Joy come from! “Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.” ~Psalm 146:1-3 “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” ~Psalm 118:8 John Calvin writes on Psalm 118:8 that: “It is better to trust in J ..read more
