Guest Blog: Emma Johnston, LostTrail Sled Dogs and Speak Dog Behaviour Consultant As a Behaviourist I have had the pleasure of working with a variety of dogs with a range of issues over the last 14 years. However, I’m often contacted or referred to from other professionals to work with dogs who struggle with high arousal/excitability levels. This I’m sure this has something to do with my personal life, where I have the privilege of living with 12 working Siberian Huskies who I compete in sled dog races with and show at events such as Crufts. A common topic with high arousal dogs is the d ..read more

As a small business we have worked really hard to establish a range of products and level of customer service that can be relied upon. Which is why we have maintained a 5* rating on both TrustPilot and SafeBuy. We have also won the 'CBD Product Supplier of the Year 19/20/21/22' awarded by the Global Health and Pharma Group and 'Best Family Run CBD Business' from LUX Life Magazine, Corporate Livewire and Southern Enterprise Awards for the third year in a row. Our Canni Goldendoodle Harry has surprised us in many ways in the last 8 years. However, after being diagnosed with a very rare inoperable tumour he has defied the odds and is still with us to celebrate today. So we are dedicating this issue to our beloved dog and share some of his story with you and how plant medicine has played an important role in his health. Ways our Goldendoodle has surprised us since day 1 Firstly because we were told that he would be no larger than a spaniel, 6months later we are having to buy a new car as he got car sick sitting up in the back and is ..read more

How to explain ADHD to a 5 year old (and an adult for that matter!)

This short cartoon written and created by a mum and daughter team, who both have ADHD, is (in our humble opinion) one of the best ways to explain to anyone how it feels to have this particular way of thinking. We provided this clip to the SENco at our school and she showed it to the children and teachers. It really seemed to help with a new level of understanding. Thank you for reading our blog and if you are interested in trying any of our products please use the code CBD20 for a 20% discount on your first order at checkout ..read more

Nothing prepares you for the potentially triggering experience of having your first child and nothing more so than if they appear to have unusual traits from a very young age. When you have a child who is a bit ‘different’ you can’t help but get anxious on their behalf. Will they be happy, will they make friends, will they fit it and so on. Our son who is now 6 was ‘diagnosed’ with Neuro-Diversity (namely ADHD) a year ago and with hindsight (such a wonderful thing I know!) I can look back now at the things I got anxious about and appreciate why I should not have wasted so much time and energy ..read more

Why should I care about Independent Product Lab Reports for CBD products?
The Canni Family Blog

1. Over 80% of CBD products tested in the UK did not contain the correct level of CBD! The Daily Mail carried out undercover product analysis of a wide range of UK CBD products and the vast majority either contained a lot less CBD than advertised or no CBD at all. Independent Lab reports show you exactly how much CBD is present in each product when combined with other cannabinoids. 2. You could be buying an illegal product! Many of the products tested contained high levels of THC (the bit that gets you high) which means you could be buying something that is considered illegal. The legal leve ..read more

The endocannabinoid system is a collection of cell receptors, called cannabinoid receptors, in the brain, other organs, and tissues throughout the body. This system plays an important role in menopause, and CBD affect the way that it works. In theory, this means that CBD could influence the effects of menopause on the body. Cannabinoid receptors are involved in: mood regulation the functioning of the immune system pain sleep memory fertility and reproduction temperature regulation One theory is that a poorly functioning endocannabinoid system can lead to various health conditions ..read more

Recently we came across a brilliant tool for schools released by the ADHD Foundation regarding changing the way this form of Neurodiversity is supported within schools an colleges. It was such a popular post that we thought we'd share it with you! If you know of someone, of any age, that has ADHD or suspected ADHD then I would highly recommend you read this as it applies to both adults and children.  Having had experience both personally and professionally regarding this way of thinking it's a really good read and although schools have come along way it may be worth sharing this wit ..read more
