A couple of weeks ago we were invited to experience Percy The Park Keeper’s Autumn Treasure Hunt at Chiswick House & Gardens in London. I hadn’t done much research into what to expect but saw it was Nick Butterworth’s Percy The Park Keeper and immediately knew we had to attend. His books were some of my favourites growing up. We decided to drive into London which took us just under two hours. Not bad for a Sunday. We quite enjoyed the journey as it was in the flight path of Heathrow so we could aeroplane spot near the end of it. There is a small carpark at Chiswick House, it is not free an ..read more

For our family, one of the biggest highlights of our Isle Of Wight holidays is the beaches. It’s either gorgeous countryside wherever you look or it’s long coastal views as you travel around the island. Most of our adventures have been blessed by gorgeous sunshine and warmth, creating a real sense of being abroad on a little island. This holiday’s weather forecast wasn’t quite like usual. Although it certainly wasn’t horrendous either. We woke up on our first morning (second day) with the plan to head to a beach again. With the pandemic and having travelled with older relatives, we wanted to m ..read more

This is the longest and probably the first time I’ve ever missed posting more than one Siblings post. Somehow grief, the summer and life have got away with me and been consuming me once again. But I’m back with September, albeit a little late too! I hope you all had a brilliant summer! Ours was pretty jam-packed but left us wondering what we’d done. I’m sure at some point I might catch up with some personal blog posts. Freya We had a bit of a light bulb moment with Freya at her most recent physio session. She’s been attending physiotherapy ever since she was about 18 months old, and for the p ..read more

Windy First Day On The Isle of Wight

It’s become a little bit of a tradition for our family to visit the Isle Of Wight each year. Whether that’s with our tribe, with my in-laws, or even the extended-in-laws too. It’s a place of blissful memories and quite rapidly became our top travel destination since 2016! Although Orlando would be a close contender if it wasn’t so expensive and far to get to! My mother-in-law had booked our summer getaway quite early on in the year, it certainly gave us hope and something to look forward to. There were times when we became quite worried that the trip wasn’t going to happen – Freya was tol ..read more

Greek Inspired Cocktail Night With Jet2holidays

Recently, I was kindly invited to a virtual cocktail-making evening with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays and Mixology Events. The evening was Greek-themed and a great way of getting us in the mood for travel. I’m actually not a drinker and I’m not sure I’ve ever tasted a cocktail before and with professionalism in mind, I opted to take part in the alcohol-free recipes so that I could actually pay attention and learn a new skill. The recipes were all rather refreshing, and I’m excited to recreate them when we host guests in the future. I must give a quick nod to Mixology Events, who send you everythi ..read more

Prince Of Egypt Musical

A few weeks ago we braved an adventure to the city to attend The Prince of Egypt musical at the Dominion Theatre. I struggled to remember when we last went to the theatre, especially a London theatre, and eventually figured out that it was back in 2015 for the Peppa Pig Tour… Not quite a West End performance. This was basically our first ever experience as a family to the West End and it did not disappoint! Live performances are something that can not be replicated, the atmosphere was breathtakingly exciting and so much emotion could be felt from the audience especially at the end when the cas ..read more

It has been a while since I took some time to update you on Elsa. The last time was back in October 2020 when I explained what was happening with Elsa – we’d been to an appointment in November 2019 with the view to having Elsa put on the Autism assessment waiting list. There we were made aware of a concern about her height and weight, and then a week later we were told that she had Selective Mutism. We’d been sent on a Selective Mutism course in March 2020, just before the world went into lockdown. This was so useful and helped us learn how to help Elsa overcome her anxiety disorder. The weigh ..read more

Imagine being alive for 32,850 days. That’s a lot of days, a lot of memories, and one heck of an adventure! My Grandad turned 90-years old back in May. It’s hard to fathom just how many things he must have been through in his lifetime, he was a young boy during the Second World War for one and he was in his teens when the NHS was formed too. More personally, this guy was in the army, he married my Nan, raised two daughters, was a huge part of my upbringing, and then my brother too. He kept my Nan alive by assisting with home dialysis and has even got to welcome three Great-Granddaughters to hi ..read more
