Vintage Pick-up NYC Elopement New York City is always full of surprises, but having a TV show force a last minute ceremony site change is quite shocking! When M&D are unable to get a Friday appointment at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau, they opt for a ceremony in City Hall Park. (This is good thing, since only one witness is allowed due to covid restrictions and both of their mothers were attending.) The small triangular park surrounds New York City Hall and the New York Civic Center. It features a fountain dating back to 1842 and is a lovely place to take photos. When we arrive, crew are r ..read more

Not sure when you can book your marriage license or ceremony appointment in NYC? I created a handy release date chart so my clients know when the week they want will be released. At the moment, the NYC Marriage Bureaus are by appointment only. In order to get a license to marry from there, you need either an in person or online appointment. In person appointments are released on the Monday 3 weeks before the week you want. Online appointments are released the Thursday just after that Monday. Confused? This is why I made the chart. Ceremonies are also released on Monday at 9am 3 weeks before th ..read more

Like many couples whose wedding plans were turned upside down in 2020 by the Coronavirus pandemic, this couple prioritized getting married legally. Since that wasn’t easy in NYC in the spring, they tied the knot in the groom’s home state of Virginia. However, they still wanted to have a stylish Manhattan elopement to officially celebrate! Since restrictions and conditions were still changing during the summer, plans were in flux until about a week before. But that is ok! My elopement coverage is always subject to various changes, the weather and how the couple is feeling on the day.  That ..read more

Black Tie Backyard Wedding

One of the biggest trends I’ve been seeing with weddings this year are dogs as guests! With so many couples opting for marry at home or small scale in a park, their beloved canine friends can be ring bearers like in this black tie backyard wedding in Darien, Ct. The couple were married under a beautiful flower arch surrounded by their closest family members. A three piece jazz band provided ambience during cocktail hour and for their first dance. Dinner was served by a local restaurant, Rebecca’s of Greenwich. The bride’s sister hand wrote the menu completing the lovely tablescape. Such a beau ..read more

On the edge of Central Park near 5th Ave. and 67th streets, there is a walkway that takes one from the hustle and bustle of a busy street into a magical landscape. The Dene Summerhouse sits on top of a rocky hill overlooking a lawn and the native meadow. The rustic shelter is covered with vines much of the year and offers a beautiful location for a wedding or elopement. For this couple, looking to marry safely during the pandemic, it offered a perfect spot for their nature inspired wedding. The bride wore a flower crown from Stems Brooklyn with a matching bouquet and boutonniere. She embroider ..read more
