We are the first passenger airline in the world to take advantage of the new AeroSHARK aircraft skin technology to further reduce the carbon dioxide emissions and the fuel consumption of our flight operations. All twelve of our Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will successively have the innovative riblet film, which has been co-developed by Lufthansa Technik and chemicals and coatings manufacturer BASF, applied to their fuselage and engine nacelles. The resulting significant reduction in aerodynamic drag will make the our 77W fleet more than one per cent more fuel-efficient, and this in turn will sub ..read more

“Shall I? Or should I not? On the one hand, I am longing for a significant change in my life…. On the other, I would give up a lot. But I‘d certainly also gain a lot…” these were the thoughts of Noémie Frischknecht, who had worked for us as a Lawyer for four and a half years – before she took a leap of faith and is currently training to become a Flight Attendant. After several years of law studies, then passing the bar exam and working in two previous legal jobs, she started at SWISS in January 2018.This was the time right before the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) came into effect ..read more

Hello dear Instagram @flyswiss followers, my name is Fabienne and I’m going to take you through the month of August. I am 24 years old and grew up in the heart of Kloten where Zurich airport is located, so I am proud to say that the airport literally is my home. Aviation has always been a part of my life. I had my first flight when I was 8 months old, to Narita, Japan. My mother is Japanese, so we have family over there who we’ve visited every single year. I was always very excited to get on the aircraft and I remember the lovely flight attendants always taking good care of us. Before coming t ..read more

Hello everyone and welcome to the month of July! My name is Vanessa, I‘m 21 years old and I‘m looking forward to sharing the love and passion for my job and aviation with you throughout the next four weeks. I was born in Hamburg and raised in Berlin before moving to Zurich three years ago, to start working as a flight attendant for SWISS. I always knew that I want to become a flight attendant and work above the clouds. Actually my father was the one, who brought up my fascination for aviation when I was a small child: we used to watch departures and landings at Hamburg Airport, whenever there ..read more

As The Airline of Switzerland, we embody the traditional values of our home country. At the same time, we also stand for diversity: Our SWISSness comes in many different shapes and colours at all times, and during Pride Month in June, we celebrate it in a special way. This month, Alana from Human Resources Employee Experience Design and Peer from the internal LGBTIQ+ Community Core Team and Revenue Management explain in three chapters why a rainbow is more than just a coloured light for us, how we strengthen our Pride Community internally and how our award as an “LGBTI-friendly employer” was a ..read more

Hello everyone and welcome on board – this is your first officer Kevin speaking. I am 31, fly our flagship, the Boeing 777-300ER and will be your Instagrammer of the Month on Instagram @flyswiss. Back in 2000 when I was 10 years old, I had the chance to visit a Boeing 747 flight deck on a flight to Miami. This visit, all those different buttons and the great view were so fascinating and breathtaking that it changed my life: my dream of becoming a pilot was born in this very moment. Grown up in Southern Germany, I moved to Switzerland in 2013 and started flying for SWISS in the same year. First ..read more

Five years ago, I made the decision to give up my 9-to-5 job. Goodbye office, Hello SWISS! So with my t ..read more
