Motorcycle riding and adventures will unveil a enchanting tapestry of awe-inspiring landscapes, impressions, and thrilling roads. This post started out to be about motorcycle riding in Europe. Thought to share some tips. But the post evolved into something else. And while it evolved it shifted more and more in the direction of a general blog, about motorcycle riding, and adventures. I guess that is what blogging is about. Or writing in general. Not always ending up where you thought you were going. It certainly is how I ride, for one thing. Not knowing where I’ll end up. Reckon there migh ..read more

The last two days on the road, (2022-7)

The last two days on the road were spent in northern Germany and Denmark. We still had quite a distance to go to Hirtshals and our ferries. In reality it would be more than two days for us to get back home. But Hirtshals and the north of Denmark marked the end of the Euro-Adventure. Early evening on the Elbe and the Wischafen – Glückstadt ferry Last two days: day 1 The mission of the day was to ride from Gummersbach to Gluckstadt. Which would be about 500 kilometers. Like on the way south, avoid Hamburg by taking the ferry across the Elbe. The thought was to spend a night at the same hotel w ..read more

2024 motorcycle season, an early start

The 2024 motorcycle season got off to an early start. But in true Norwegian (fake spring) fashion, temporarily ended the day after. 2024 season start, first ride of the year on the 2023 KTM 890 Adventure. Yeah, March 22nd is my earliest season start ever. One day of great weather amidst an otherwise pretty miserable period was enough. Plus a friend had bought a new motorcycle (not the same as mine), and was keen to get it on the road. Sadly, things didn’t turn out quite as expected for my friend. He returned the bike to the dealer for fixing the following Wednesday. But that is another story ..read more

Mosel valley, Burg Eltz and north (2022-6)

Mosel valley in Germany is a beautiful drive or ride. A visit to Burg Eltz makes the experience even better! Near Mosel Valley: Eltz Castle, or Burg Eltz It had been four years since I came this way. Didn’t take quite the same route though. Back then I visited the castle for the first time, and stayed overnight not far from it. Unsurprising, if you’ve read some of my other posts, that happened on a whim. Well, more or less. Anyhow, so as we made ourselves ready, after what might have been the worst breakfast on whole trip, the/our direction was sort of set. I suggested Mosel valley and a cas ..read more

Returning north in France (2022-5)

Tuesday September 20th it was time to begin returning north. Another day of road improvisation, and another unknown destination. Well actually the returning north started the day before, just as we rode through Combe Laval. But this particular morning it was more the sensation of a turning point. Though adventures were to still to be had, including a lodging decision to remember (if not exactly fondly). More about that later. Château de Sercy, near Sercy, France Returning north, in France From Belleville-en-Beaujolais and our hotel, around 40 kilometers north of Lyon, we set course for Dijon ..read more

Webdesign is a craft. It requires patience, skills, focus on details, and patience. Webdesign is an evolution, and a process.  It’s also a profession. Many has turned it into their profession. Anyone with some talents in design, presentation and, perhaps most importantly. content and content architecture, can do it. You don’t start from scratch. It would not make any sense. There are so many templates, modules and plugins available. You don’t have to be a programmer, or developer. But it does help to understand, or learn, some of the basics. From my experience, none of the above have muc ..read more

Combe Laval, France (2022-4)

Combe Laval was a target while in France in 2021. But I chose another route further south, and as a result had to drop that plan. I’ve for long wanted to ride “Route et cirque de Combe Laval”. The scenic route also known as D76. A year later it was going to happen. My travel companion had no objections. A new experience for him as well. So Combe Laval became the goal of the day. Getting turned out to be more interesting than we had expected! Combe Laval, seen from D76, or “Route et cirque de Combe Laval” Vercors Massif From Le Bourg d’Oisans we took the same road back out of the valley, and ..read more
