This time for food hunting, we went to the famous Halo Ground cafe. We’ve always heard good things about this cafe and a friend suggested that we should give it a try so we did. It was a little hard to find parking as there was not a lot of on street parking available. Thank goodness the cafe was not as busy. Iced Mocha Iced Chocolate Latte We started our brunch with some cold drinks in this scorching hot summer morning. I got my usual hot latte because I really needed something to wake me up. Even though the cafe was not as busy, we had to wait for while for our food. Pork Benny | Pork bell ..read more

During the long weekend a couple of weeks ago, my friends and I decided to head down to the Sunshine Coast for a short trip. A friend recommended us to try Riba Kai, a famous cafe in Maroochydore. The cafe had a very nice ambience and an onsite Roastery at the back of the cafe! You can watch them do the magic and roast the beans while sipping on your coffee. Berry Smoothie Chai Latte Latte and Dirty Chai We started off with some drinks and I ordered my usual latte. Everything was great, however, my friend did mentioned that the Berry Smoothie was a little too sour for their liking – probably ..read more

When we heard that Emily Yeoh was going to open a restaurant in Paddington, we were so excited! For those of you who don’t know, Emily Yeoh participated in the sixth Master Chef Australia contest. We started off with two entrees, the first one would be the classic Prawn and Pork Xiu Mai. We were very amazed at how pretty the dished was plated. This was quite tasty and the meat was flavoursome and tender, however, the skin was slightly dry, and it was torn and stuck on the paper when we picked them up. Farm House Kedron

As the name suggests, Farm House Kedron is a beautiful cafe that resembles a barn, giving off a very country and relaxing vibe. However, there’s a deeper meaning behind the name of the cafe. It is a tribute to family farms and fresh food producers and they support them by sourcing their ingredients from the local farmers to present on your plate. We’ve been to this cafe multiple times, but I’ve always missed the chance to blog about it and finally, here it is! They have adopted a new ordering style where you can order and pay through an online platform, making it very quick and easy. If you ..read more

At the corner of Stanley street and Potts street, you will find this funky restaurant with street art painted on the building. We came on a Tuesday morning so it was relatively quiet. However, I heard that this place is becoming more popular than it already is. The venue is spacious and the staffs were outstandingly friendly. The environment is adorned with a mixture of lively green colour and heritage feel. Latte I ordered the Creme Brulee French Toast for myself. This dish was the highlight of this visit. The caramel glazed toast was crunchy, crispy outside and soft, moist inside. It cam ..read more

Botanical Lab is no stranger to Brisbane foodies. This popular store is all over Instagram right now because of the aesthetic presentation of their desserts and also the flowery decorations. We wanted to visit this venue when it was in Bakery Lane, however, parking was always tricky in the Valley. Since then, they have moved to West End and is now bigger than ever. This post was actually our second time coming back to their new West End store. When we came for the first time, they had plumbing issues so they were unable to serve any soft serve at the time then we decided to come by the week af ..read more

We have been wanting to try Manok Park for a very long time and we finally got to visit this place after everything is starting to slowly settle down. We’ve been looking at their Instagram for a while now and their food/beverages pictures reminds us of the aesthetic cafes in Korea. Located in Southside Brisbane, this restaurant is in one of the newer complex in Underwood. They are currently not taking bookings we but were lucky as it was relatively quiet at the time so we got seats right away. The staff greeted us very warmly and the first thing we noticed was that the cafe was decorated with ..read more

As the COVID-19 situation improves in Brisbane, we were quite excited for more food hunting to come. We started off by visiting somewhere we hadn’t been before. Moreish cafe is a new venue located just opposite to the entrance of Stone Corner Village in Greenslopes. The place has both indoor and outdoor dining area which sits around 15 tables in total. Matcha Latte Rather than ordering my usual coffee, I decided on their Matcha Latte instead. I was a little bit shocked by the latte art presentation as it was not what I expected judging from their Instagram account. There was a hint of matcha ..read more

The Jin Modern Japanese Cuisine

The Jin Modern Japanese Cuisine serves a mixture of both Japanese and Italian food. This small, hidden gem is located in Calamvale Square at Beaudesert Road. The restaurant was very neat and cozy and we were warmly greeted by the waitress the moment we entered. There were not a lot of non-alcoholic drinks from the menu so we decided to get a pot of hot green tea to share among ourselves as it was very chilly that night. We really appreciated the waitress refilling our jug without a fuss while we were enjoying our meals. Hot Green TeaBeef Tadaki | Thinly sliced sirloin, citrus fonzu, spring oni ..read more

Wagyu-Ya on Chevron

We’ve heard so many good reviews about this Japanese place and it was also said to serve the best Japanese food in Queensland by native Japanese so, obviously, we had to try this place! Wagyu-Ya on Chevron is a relatively small restaurant near the Surface Paradise, Gold Coast. Based on their name, you can tell that they specialise in selling high quality Wagyu, Japanese beef cattle. They currently have a limited menu due to COVID-19, so the majority of the meals that were ordered that night were Yakiniku BBQ. There were only two seats at the front of the store, focusing mainly on takeaways. O ..read more
