Accra has been voted by WAFU Zone B as the host city for the 2024 U-17 Boys Cup of Nations in May. The tournament will feature host, Ghana, defending Champions Ni­geria, Cote D’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, and Niger. The WAFU Zone B Champion­ship will also serve as qualifiers for the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations, a statement from the FA said. Okada rider jailed 10 years for robbery

The Tarkwa Circuit Court has sentenced an okada rider, Kofi Sumaila, to 10 years imprison­ment for robbing a commercial tricycle rider, at Bompieso in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality. The 22-year-old convict, also known as Blackman, plead­ed guilty and prayed the court, presided over by Mrs Hathia Ama Manu, for forgiveness. The National Health In­surance Authority (NHIA) says it paid GH¢180 million to various categories of healthcare providers last Friday across the country mainly for claims submitted and vetted up to December 2023. A man, who defiled and impregnated a 15-year-old student, has been sentenced to seven years’ impris­onment in hard labour, by the Tarkwa Circuit Court. The convict, Kingsley Acquah, 24, pleaded not guilty to the charge, but he was found guilty at the end of the trial.
