Welcome to my stop on the Seaside Adventure Row-along tour! Today is the last pattern release day for the Seaside Adventure Row Along and it’s time to release my tribute block in memory of Marian Pena. For the past three years I have participated in Marian’s epic annual row-along at Seams to be Sew – if you have been involved before you would remember…. 50 bloggers,, each with a themed block pattern, and lots and lots of prizes and prize draws. It was bigger than big! In the years I participated we had themes of My Happy Place, Once Upon a Story and It’s A Garden Party. And each time ..read more

Week 7 has nearly come and gone! “Oh my fur and whiskers! I’m late! I’m late! Im late!” Not too late though, thankfully. Just in time to invite you to last week’s unbirthday party. In the Seaside Adventure row-along everyone gets gifts – free quilt block patterns for all! (Even if it’s actually your birthday!) And yes, we’re all mad here…… This past week there were two more contributors to the Seaside Adventure row-along. Aren’t they both wonderful?! Check out the rest of this post for links to collect these patterns. And then hold tight like an octopus because we are due to have my pa ..read more

Only two more weeks in the row-along after this! How time flies when you are having fun! This week the Chameleon has decided to take a break from touring and spend some time in one spot…. Lazing under a beach umbrella every day and head out snorkelling on the reef making friends with the reef fish. And thinking about his block pattern day coming up soon. His pattern is all ready to go, and he can’t wait to share it with you in less than a fortnight’s time. You’ll never guess what our shy, retiring Chameleon chose as the theme for his row-along block design…… Camouflage! Or perhaps, more ac ..read more

Coasting along on our Seaside Adventure row-along. Marian’s vision is really coming together now – we’re halfway through our participant list for the Seaside Adventure row-along. Thank you for all taking part in this event, and thanks to Mel Shields for hosting it. It makes me feel really proud that we are doing this one last thing to honour our friend, and doing it so well. This week we have two more row-along patterns available – a beautiful mermaid, caring for her ocean home just as Marian was passionate about the health of our oceans. And a cheeky hermit crab who has made instant best ..read more

Travel delays! Well, it seems that the Seaside Adventure tour bus is running late this week….. I think the Chameleon must have got distracted making sandcastles. Or perhaps he was just hiding under the boardwalk eating bucketloads of ice cream. Luckily, we can still make up the time and be on schedule again for next week. The Chameleon knows a short cut. C’mon, has he ever led you astray?! Yeah, don’t answer that. This week the row-along patterns available are a fabulous paper-pieced bucket, a terrific starfish in an ocean wave block and a set of ocean friends appliqués. Worth the wait I ..read more

Postcards from the Seaside! You’ve got mail! Dear Friend, I have been on the road for 3 weeks already, but there’s not been a dull moment! The weather is glorious, the coastline is stunning, and the beach is littered with beautiful quilt patterns just waiting to be scooped up for my collection. Having a ball, wish you were here! Love from Clever xxoo As you can see, the Chameleon is still enjoying Marian’s memorial Seaside Adventure Row Along enormously! I hope you are keeping an eye on the pattern releases and are building up your collection. This week we have three new patterns, all as t ..read more

Back Again! Two from Two! So, are you enjoying the Seaside Adventure so far? What a terrific set of blocks we were treated to last week. I know Marian would have been so pleased. I hope you are enjoying seeing Marian’s vision come to fruition as much as I am. There are three new blocks available in her Row Along this week, and they are all beauties. Very insta-worthy locations, so add them to your adventure itinerary by heading over to the Chameleon’s pop-up travel agency on the blog! Thank you to everyone who left a message welcoming me and my crazy alter ego back into their email in ..read more

Well, Hello! Bet you did not expect a Chameleon in your inbox today! Taaa Daaa! Sorry about the absence….. it was only supposed to be for a few weeks, but once I got out of the blogging habit….. well, you know. Long story short, I went back to work. In a newish-to-me industry. And it turns out that it is haaaaard and tiring for an old Chameleon to her learn new tricks! So as a result I haven’t been doing much sewing and even less quilt-related writing. I miss them both. I miss you all. But I do get out and about more. The reason why I am suddenly dropping in today is to let you know that ..read more

Lunarcy Quilt: Year of the Tiger Block Release Day I was, for a very long time as a child and teen, fascinated with big cats; especially tigers. So beautiful, sleek, powerful, mysterious – I had tiger shirts, tiger jigsaws, tiger books, tiger toys….. I even had a real tiger whisker, given to me by a keeper at the Adelaide Zoo. I loved everything about tigers (except the smell!). I would have probably traded a kidney for a domestic orange cat with black stripes in the likeness of Jim Davis’ Garfield, just so I could pretend I owned a mini tiger. Some girls loved horses, I loooved tigers. Whi ..read more
