Otherwise hey,
hi, lovely to have you!
If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know I had a bit of strop with my business at the end of May and decided to take a break for 3 weeks. I was headed to Canada with my boyfriend (more on that to come) and thought what better time to forget the online world and enjoy instead what the real and natural world has to offer me.
With this

I feel like a millionaire when I’m on holiday – I get to do what I want, eat what I want and go where I want, spending all the money I’ve saved and forgetting all the complications, stresses and pressures of my ‘normal’ life I’ve left behind.
So of course it’s a bit of a harsh reality when I return home.
Alex (my boyfriend) and I, have just returned from a two-week holiday exploring the beautiful nature and wildlife of the Canadian Rockies. It was the best holiday of our lives and one we had been looking forward to for a year and a half. Of course, I imagined coming home would be a bit ..read more

As a food blogger and photographer, Instagram should be my favourite place to be – right? It’s a fantastic way to connect with people, provides endless inspiration, and acts as a platform to share the work and creations that I’m proud of.
But I’m falling out of love with it.
Having a
business presence on Instagram is exhausting. I resent having to consistently
document my life and I don’t feel my efforts to share are always rewarded. Of
course, there are moments of sharing and engaging that feel great, but the
no-content funk is a hard one to drag myself out of.
Basically,

I’ve never
been one to break the rules. In fact it scares me. At school I was the kid that
had a ponytail AND a hairband to ensure my hair would never be in my eyes and
therefore distract me from my work. That’s the kind of law-abider we’re dealing
with.
Climbing or
hopping fences when there’s a perfectly good gate? Nope.
Crossing
the road where there isn’t a designated pedestrian crossing zone? Are you mad!
Oh and don’t get me started on letting passengers off
the train first before boarding.
I’m a next level rule not-breaker. Until now.
You see I
have a bi-weekly delivery o ..read more

This month
has been a little up and down if I’m honest. Exciting developments have been
followed by push backs and delays and everything is taking longer than
expected. But that’s the nature of freelancing I suppose, and definitely
something I’m going to have to get used to without the safety net of a stable
pay cheque.
Let’s dig
in shall we?

Well hello
there, I hope you’ve all had a delightful 30 days.
April sees
the start of the free holiday season and I love it (I mean who doesn’t). A 4-day
weekend without taking any holiday? Yes please. And a holiday synonymous with
eating lots and lots of food – chocolate mostly – and chilling with family? Yes
again!
Oh and if
all that holidaying tires you out, fear not! We’ve got another couple of 3-day
weekends coming our way soon so you can catch up on doing nothing. Three cheers
for bank holiday season!
I had two weeks off the caffeine in April, which I’m supposing was good for m ..read more

Flavour seekers rejoice! This recipe is for you.
Inspired by a curry I ate in Cornwall a couple of years back and cooked by a family friend, this recipe has been a firm favourite ever since. In fact there’s a tuppaware of this curry in my freezer pretty much permanently. Sometimes with prawns, sometimes with chicken, sometimes loaded with veggies I’ve used up from the fridge. I’d go as far to say it’s my favourite batch cook recipe ever.
Yep, I went there.
Perhaps it’s
me, but I’m convinced a stint in the freezer makes everything taste better. All
the flavours seem to mix and inten ..read more

Overripe
bananas – you know how it goes.
They start off in your fruit bowl looking plump and ripe and delicious. And you eat one or two throughout the week, but hell you can’t eat all of them! And why on earth were you tempted to buy such a big bunch anyway?
So they start to go a little spotty and you look at them and think ‘ooh I must remember to eat one of those today’ and then you totally forget and they sit there for a little while longer. Of course, by the following morning they’re turning positively brown and you know at this stage you definitely won’t eat them as they are, but y ..read more

Things
have got exciting this month and yet from the outside, it may seem as though
I’ve made little progress. But that’s exactly what this series is about:

you all an insight into what it really takes to build a b ..read more

Hello
friends, welcome to spring (for real this time).
In my February highlights I told you all that we were through the winter. Well I jinxed it, because we totally weren’t. Since that delightful sunny spell we’ve been hit with rain and cold and wind and rain and cold and I had to put my puffa back on.
But now, it seems the sun is peeking through most days. It really is lighter in the mornings. And the clocks have finally changed. And I’m so excited for longer evenings and thinner jackets and fancy summer drinks.
But for now, we’re still on the coffee. So grab yourself one of those ..read more
