2018 Ford Interceptor SUV (Explorer)

I just bought a Ford Interceptor SUV with 110,000 miles. It has been maintained by the dealership, including oil changes every 3,000 miles for the life of the vehicle! The caveat is that it has over 18,000 engine hours. Everything I read online says an engine hour is equivalent to 25-33 miles on an engine... My question is how long do you think it will last or should I just flip it before it breaks down? Would love to hear anyone's take or personal experience with buying a retired police vehicle submitted by /u/MyDadWillSueYours [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

2021 Edge Engine Sound

31,000 miles I purchased an Edge a couple of days ago and it wasn’t until today with the radio off that I heard how loud the engine was with a ticking sound. I’ve driven quite a few vehicles and I’ve never heard one that was this loud coming directly from the engine with the windows up. Being curious, I sort of googling it, and I found a gentleman whose engine sounded almost identical to mine, except it was a different year. His is just slightly louder than mine but they sound almost identical, especially when he revs his engine later in the video. I’m going to call my dealership tomorrow ..read more

5.4l 3v stripped ignition coil bolts

Do the ignition coil bolts matter that much or should worry about them? They're stripped out due to corrosion from the aluminum valve cover with steel bolts and I don't really wanna replace the covers mostly because it's such a pain to remove and I've done it to many times lmao. Will them not being bolted down cause misfires or issues? Thanks. 2005 Lincoln navigator submitted by /u/sethdrak33 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What is Traffic Jam Assist?

There is a feature in ACC with stop and go and lane centering that allows the driver to remove their hands from the steering wheel when the vehicle is under 25mph. I can’t seem to find too much information on this feature. submitted by /u/Wubster100 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Any suggestions on affordable scanner to quickly know if there are any issues on the transmission of Ford cars?

Any suggestions on what scanner should I buy.. I am a car dealer and I am interested in buying fords most of the times from the auctions. I want an affordable scanner that could quickly read transmission codes on ford cars. Some of the fords I bought were shuddering and there was no check engine light or any indication of transmission issues on the dashboard. I want a scanner that could help me know if a car has transmission issues without having to test drive the car. A scanner that reads transmission issues on Ford Focus and Fiesta specifically. Thank you everyone submitted by /u/Sensitive ..read more

Dumb question I feel stupid.

So... I feel like an idiot... I replaced my engine mount of my 2013 focus auto but never the transmission mounts... I hear it fixes some tranny problems... so my tranny slips in auto mode but is fine in select mode with the + and - shifting 1 to 3 to 5. Also my car jerks and jumps when I hit 2k rmps is seems from time to time which leads me to believe the tranny mounts or mount my questions are what are the names for those mounts before I get rid of it I want to make sure I tried to fix everything... so here we go with the mounts names of the parts please. submitted by /u/AwokenManifest [vis ..read more
