I’ve been at IBM for 4 months now. Generally, when do performance reviews happen, how are they conducted and are raises, stock grants and bonuses part of the mix? submitted by /u/Me_Dogs_Bollocks [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Small raise, shrinking PMR - what to expect going forward?

Throwaway account here, mostly for probably-unnecessary paranoia. With raises starting to go out, I wanted to share an interesting compensation situation I haven't come across yet and get some external perspective! I received a raise today (the smallest I've seen in my current role thus far, FWIW) but I'm more concerned about the fact that my PMR got considerably smaller alongside this. Since last year's raise cycle, I voluntarily moved to a city with a higher salary tier than where I moved from, and this expectedly dropped my PMR, which I understand. Since then, I assume IBM significantly mo ..read more

Fired without second PIP?

So, here's the story. I am in software support, not sales. Last year I got put on a PIP for the first half of the year. It was valid, I was not hitting any of the goals set out for me or my team. I worked really hard and did get out of it. Second half I was not put on a PIP, but was marked as a low performer. My mental health has been taking a nose dive and I have not been doing well this first quarter. I just got my 1Q review posted to Checkpoint and it was not good. Very scathing, saying I'm performing even lower than when I was put on a PIP the first time. I have not met with my boss yet w ..read more

Hi, anyone in this group that did a legal internship at IBM? What were the questions during the interview? Do they ask technical/theoretical questions? Or is it more about to get to know the person and questions about their CV/motivation? Help a young graduate out please! submitted by /u/Minute-Ask-7575 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Anyone here worked at IBM in Essex Junction, VT before they sold the site to GlobalFoundries? What are your favorite memories?

I was there briefly at the start of my career as a software engineer. I still remember really smart and down to earth colleagues, eating lunch at the cafeteria, and then taking a 20 minute walk around campus before returning to our office. I have worked at startups ever since and that type of lifestyle seems completely alien to them at this point. submitted by /u/FewWatercress4917 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
