Being on placement can be a daunting yet exciting experience. The daunting aspect comes from being a student in a new environment with new people and the exciting part comes from being able to consolidate your theoretical learning in practice. There is a lot to learn from each environment you are placed in. Today we not only celebrate International nurses day; the Bicentenary of the birth of Florence nightingale, it is also the International Year of the Nurse. A poignant time to be a nurse.
