Make Oakland Better Now! was an early proponent of Ceasefire, the program that significantly reduced the number of Oakland homicides from a high of 126 homicides in 2012 to a low of 71 in 2017.  But now, for the second year in a row, Oakland homicides are up to much higher levels.
