Gee, I knew my posting schedule would be erratic for a while, but I never expected to skip an entire month! What has me so occupied?  A lot of things.  Today, I’m blaming my absence on YouTube. Moving all our videos seemed like such an undertaking, I started reconsidering my decision to leave YouTube. But, after learning that creators could get slapped with a big fat fine from the FTC if their toy-related videos aren’t labeled “for kids,” I went ahead and deleted all our videos from YouTube.  I don’t feel like waking up in the middle of the night, stressing over whether or notRead The Post The ..read more

Get your wallets ready because Frozen 2 merch is officially here! On October 4th, Disney launched a “Frozen Fan Fest” both in stores and online, and with this fan fest came a hoard of Frozen 2 dolls, plushies, and more. The festivities weren’t limited to just Disney Stores either.  No sir, major retailers worldwide (like Walmart, Target, and Claire’s) also celebrated by filling their shelves with all kinds of Frozen 2 goodies, including products exclusive to each store. Want an Elsa or Anna themed hoodie?  No problem!  Frozen 2 clothes are in stock for both kids and adults.  There’s also a ple ..read more

Tink’s Day Out

Hi guys–Tinkerbell here today!   Long-time followers of this blog probably remember the good ol‘ days when I wrote more often.  You know, posted stuff like a Tsum Tsum review or simple photostory. Unfortunately, my ability to give glimpses into our dolly lives kinda got impossible once the house renovations started, especially since most of my friends are still packed away (for their own safety, of course). However, my human pal may not be able to write as much in the coming months, so she’s given me the go-ahead to entertain y’all with stories of my adventures.  Yippee!! And this week’s tale ..read more

What YouTube’s Changes Mean For Toy Collectors
Tinker Bell's Treasure | Doll Collecting, Toy Reviews, and DIY Doll Projects

Do you watch doll crafts and toy reviews on YouTube?  Then you ought to know about the changes coming to the popular video-sharing platform.  Changes that will affect anyone whose content includes dolls and toys. On September 4th, YouTube announced that channels featuring toys, games, themes, and/or kids’ characters will no longer be able to monetize their videos and may even get docked by YouTube’s search engine.  This news rocked YouTube’s toy community, especially since many of them depend on their channel for income. Now, I’m not an expert when it comes to the law, big corporations, and wh ..read more

How To Make A Display For A Doll Grocery Store
Tinker Bell's Treasure | Doll Collecting, Toy Reviews, and DIY Doll Projects

The inside of our dolly supermarket is nearly done.  We’ve decorated the walls and floor, put in a checkout counter, and made a couple of sales bins and a freezer. However, the bins and freezer aren’t enough to hold my entire collection of Shopkins and Mini Brands.  I could really use another shelf or two along the back wall. So I’m going to create a large display with shelves for holding even more doll-sized groceries! Supplies needed: White foam board. Glue (Hot glue, a glue stick, and/or Tacky Glue). Scrapbook or contact paper. X-Acto Knife. Scraps of cardboard or doll packaging. Building t ..read more

A Quick Update Plus A New Feature

Sorry, guys, but no craft post today.  Home renovations and farm chores zapped my energy levels, bringing my creative endeavors to a halt.  I know—BOO! As I’ve mentioned before, I have limited stamina. Not being able to finish a task because I dared to unload hay or lifted a box of tile at Home Depot is upsetting, and having to lie down after a trip to Walmart is embarrassing. But these things happen more frequently than I’ll ever admit. Still, I don’t want to go another week without posting, so I decided this was a good time to introduce a new feature to Pixie DustRead The Post The post A Qui ..read more

What have I been up to lately?  Just crafting a freezer for our doll grocery store, that’s all! This project took a little longer to finish, not because it’s difficult, but because my time to craft has been hit and miss lately.  Even so, I’m thrilled with how it turned out and can’t wait to show you how to make one for your doll supermarket! Supplies needed: Grey foam board. White foam board. A sheet of thin plexiglass. A variety of glue (Hot glue, Tacky glue, plus a strong glue that adheres to plexiglass). Ready to get back to work on our doll grocery store?  Great!  Grab your glue gun and let’s get started! We’ve built a frame for our store and covered the walls and floor with paper.  Now we need to add some counters and shelves so we can stock it with Mini Brands and other doll-sized groceries. Let’s start by making a couple of shelving units. Freestanding Shelves For A Doll Grocery Store: Do these shelves look familiar?  They should!  I made them following the instructions My Froggy Stuff gives in her 5 Surprise Mini Brands unboxing (there’s a link to the video at the bottomRead The Post The ..read more

Let’s Make A Doll Grocery Store!

After reviewing Zuru’s 5 Surprise Mini Brands, I couldn’t help heading back to Walmart for more.  They are just too cute!  This second batch of Mini Brands had several new items—and a few more doubles. Now I need someplace to keep all these adorable goodies, so I’m going to turn a cardboard box into a grocery store for my dolls. The Supplies: A heavy-duty cardboard box (I bought mine at Walmart). An X-Acto knife and scissors. Scrapbook paper and/or contact paper (I used both). Hot Glue and/or Tacky Glue. Scraps of cardboard or foamboard. Constructing the store is fairly straightforward.  You’r ..read more
