hi everyone, I have a 2013 macbook air that I hate with every cell of my body, and I want to completely wipe it and upgrade to latest version. it runs on version 10.9.5, and I downloaded Sierra 10.12 from here. it just won't download the OS image through software updater because it says that my OS version is too low. I'm on Sonoma 14.4.1 with a Brother printer connected by usb. I opened System settings and made sure Printer Sharing is turned ON. I installed Bonjour on the Windows 11 laptop. The Windows laptop is connected by wifi and can "see" the Brother [printer@mymac](mailto:printer@mymac). When I try to print it gives me an undefined error. UPDATE: I just tried printing from another Windows 11 pc connected via ethernet and a router. Same thing. It "sees" the printer. It adds the printer. It can't print. So I just bought a hard drive so I can backup my laptop, and I needed to reformat it. Naturally I chose the most secure option because it sounded good without doing my research first. Turns out I COMPLETELY messed up because now I might be waiting a few days for this erase to finish. It is a 1TB hard drive… Please help, how can I cancel the erase process without damaging the hard drive or my laptop? I bought a new Macbook and tried to create a new Time Machine backup, but halfway through the backup it says my external disk doesn't have space. So, I went in Finder to delete the oldest TM backup to make room on my external drive, and after about 20 minutes it says I don't have permission to delete the oldest backup. Now I'm stuck. Hi all, Unfortunately my old macbook has completely died. I already own an new one but i would like to retrieve some cherished pictures from this old MacBook. To do so I removed the SSD and see that is 12x16 and i looked around for any cheap adapter that will just let me transfer my photos. I saw the OWC envoy pro but this is a bit expensive for me. I was wondering if any of you know a cheap option. I do not intend to use this ssd as an external hard drive, just to access it. Noob Mac user here. My company sent me a MacBook Pro M3 and I bought two 24" dell monitors with x1 hdmi & x1 DP inputs on each. I bought a anker docking station but it only allows me to extend 1 external monitor and it mirrors the other.. Can someone help me out here? Did I buy an incompatible docking station?
