How to Make Ombre Floral Centerpieces
The Party Teacher
by Jennifer Needham

For our Easter table this year, I made ombre floral centerpieces. You could use this same technique for any party, using any color of flowers. This look is simple to create, doesn’t cost a fortune, and is a great way to highlight your party color palette. Instead of one central flower arrangement, I made a series of five small arrangements. All together, they created an ombre effect down the center of the table. Ombre Floral Centerpiece Supplies For vases, I chose 3-inch square glass vases from Dollar Tree. (I’m not seeing those online now, but Michael’s has similar vases.) We chose whi ..read more

Green & White Easter Table setting
The Party Teacher

I typically pull out my Grandmother’s china for Easter and this year is no exception. It is getting more delicate as the years go on, so at some point, I may have to stop using it. But for now, I’m leaning into the pattern’s colors. Two years ago, I styled a yellow/white Easter and this year, I’m going for a green and white Easter table setting. Add flocked bunnies to a sideboard Since we have a new dining room table and chairs, plus art and Wedgewood plates on the wall, I was determined to use mainly what I already had. (Well, the table is not new — just new to us. The table and chairs are E ..read more

Easter S’mores Board
The Party Teacher

Run, run to WalMart if you are looking for cute neutral Easter decor this year. I went looking for new Easter baskets for my girls (found: rattan with bunny ears!) and came home with ivory flocked bunnies and this 12 x 6 inch wood bunny platter. This bunny tray is perfect for making an Easter s’mores board! I’ve been so excited to style the bunny board and came up with the idea of making deconstructed s’mores — charcuterie board-style. This has got to be the easiest and fastest Easter project you can make this Spring. The idea is that you pick a bunny ear marshmallow, a chocolate and a couple ..read more

How to Make Cloud Popcorn
The Party Teacher

For the weather themed part of my daughters’ birthday party, I hit on the idea of cloud popcorn. Sweet and salty is a can’t lose combo in my book and I had all the ingredients on hand. Cloud popcorn is a lot like Rice Krispies Treats, but even easier to make and not as sticky. The basic idea behind cloud popcorn is that I wanted a dessert that would be special for my daughter who is studying meteorology. And if you tilt your head sideways and squint, popcorn, marshmallows, vanilla yogurt chips, coconut and vanilla merginues all kind of look like clouds. Dolly Parton + Weather Birthday Party for Twins
The Party Teacher
by Jennifer Needham

Ya’ll, I guess I can kiss the SEO ranking on this post goodbye, because NO ONE is going to be Googling “Dolly Parton + Weather Birthday Party for Twins.” But, this is the reality of birthday parties for twins! Honestly, I’m just glad my kids haven’t said they are too cool for a little party decor. They still love a little fuss for their birthday, and I am here for it. My original idea was to set up two distinct areas: the Dolly Parton themed table and backdrop in the kitchen and the weather party in the dining room. But my twin girls agreed that we should just mix it all up, so that’s what we ..read more

The Party Teacher

In November, my daughters and I were so excited help our friend Stephanie and her family set up for baby Ray’s Marvelous First Birthday Party. Dad Greg is a HUGE Marvel comics fan. Marvel was really the only choice for this first party! If you remember my Ray of Sunshine Baby Shower, that was hosted in honor of Stephanie. Time has absolutely FLOWN. I can’t believe Ray is already one! First of all, how CUTE did Stephanie cook this baby? He was the best-est boy at his party. P.S. I want to go a party in my jammies. Stephanie and I started brainstorming for this party in August — that’s four mo ..read more

Hot Chocolate Board How-tos
The Party Teacher

It’s about to get so cold here in Georgia that I feel like I’m back living in Minnesota. And that can mean only one thing: hot chocolate. So when Baby A was home from college this past weekend, we made a hot chocolate board of mix-ins for cocoa. Yum! This is so fast and easy. You can make a hot chocolate board just because it’s cold or for Valentine’s Day coming up. Hot Chocolate Board Tray What type of tray should you use for your hot chocolate board? I always choose a tray with a lip when I’m making any kind of charcuterie. It just makes it easier to keep your treats in place on the tray. Y ..read more

There’s nothing my girls love more during the Christmas holiday then curling up with some snacks and watching Christmas movies. Whether it’s childhood favorites or a Hallmark Christmas movie marathon, we are here for the Christmas movies. And while nobody needs another project during the busy Christmas season, this Christmas Movie Night Party is so simple to put together that I think you’ll really have fun hosting it. This is a great party for kids of any age. Invite friends over or keep it just the family. For this Christmas Movie Night Party, you’re going to make one run to the grocery stor ..read more

How to Make Christmas Tree Brownie Bites
The Party Teacher
by Jennifer Needham

Any excuse for a brownie bite! I loved the fun ghost brownie bites I made for Halloween last year, and it occurred to me that I could just as easily make Christmas tree brownie bites. Here’s how. You just need store-bought brownie bites, or make your own if you prefer. Buy green cake frosting (try WalMart) or green cupcake frosting if you can’t find the larger cake frosting size can. Or, chose white frosting and dye it green with food coloring gel. Again, I’m choosing the easy route. Take a small, offset spatula or the back of a spoon. Dip it in frosting. Place it at the top of your brownie ..read more

What Party Supplies Are Worth the Money?
The Party Teacher
by Jennifer Needham
5M ago
What party supplies are worth the money? That’s a question I hear a lot from party planning moms. “What should I spend my party dollars on?” and “Where should I save my money?” I’m going to help you figure it out, but I’ll warn you upfront: you may not like the first step. 1 – Decide how much you can spend on your party. Feeling like you “can’t really spend a lot” is not the same as picking a dollar amount that you won’t exceed. (Yes, this is my tough love side!) So, pick a number. There’s no magic number that gives you an Instagram-worthy party. But there is a number that fits your family’s ..read more
