Lead Based Paint Wipe Down ARC’s Houston office completed a large lead based paint project last month. This project included a wipe down of 90,000 square feet of lead based paint dust. Crews began by making air tight containments to the area, sealing off all HVAC returns, doors, and windows with poly and tape. Once the area is secured, a HEPA Vacuum is used to begin the detailing process and clean-up of lead based paint dust. WACO, TX 3/08/2022 – We spent a week at the former Olmsted-Kirk Paper Company in downtown Waco, Texas. We removed asbestos-containing materials by hand using wet methods under negative pressure. The project consisted of abating, removing, and disposing of approximately 11,745 SF of different materials — firewall texture and joint compound, drywall texture and joint compound, vinyl floor covering and black mastic, several concrete steps in front, exterior caulk, and one sink with undercoating. Wet Methods Under Negative Pressure ARC Abatement recently completed two commercial projects that required hand removal of asbestos-containing materials using wet methods under negative pressure. First, in Commerce, Texas, we removed 470 square feet of flooring in a retail building. Church Asbestos Abatement It took our crew of six less than a week to complete an asbestos abatement job at a church southeast of downtown Dallas. We removed approximately 2,700 asbestos-containing floor tile and mastic in the sanctuary. The project required detailed cleaning of the asbestos debris/residue that adhered to the exposed wooden studs in the sanctuary and rooms behind the stage area. Another asbestos abatement project under budget and ahead of schedule by ARC’s National Industrial Group. We completed the asbestos and universal waste removal at the Lordsburg Generating Station in New Mexico. Building 1 had Boilers 1-3, and Building 2 had only Boiler number 4. Contaminated Drywall Removal Disposal An asbestos-containing material abatement project at a residence near the Lake Highlands neighborhood in northeast Dallas. We removed and disposed of contaminated drywall from water damage in the living room and office area. Airport Interior Demolition The team from ARC’s Denver office completed an interior demolition project at the Grand Junction Regional Airport. We removed 20K SF of ceramic tile and thinset along with 2K SF of carpet/mastic, all materials are non-ACM. Work was completed overnight to ensure the least amount of disturbance to operating hours.
