A Hoyer geyer wrap, pre model number’s. # 33164 M It was screw belled to save a fixed bell horn that, I was told, was badly torn, beyond saving with a krantz. The ringset is compatible with the Conn/Selmer ring set which is also alex compatible. I don’t think the ring set was made as a unit. The union of the two cuts on the inside had a definate bump, not, as you would would like to see, seamless…I don’t know the make or origion of the flare but is serviceable. Olds Geyer wrap: Marsten valves. F.E. Olds Geyer wrap, Combo NiSi & Brass. Marsten Valves. $1450.00 , Ask questions… In the 1950s F. E. Olds was in Fullerton, California. Olds was being run at this time by Mr. Reynolds who had closed down his Ohio factory and had taken up the task of helping Olds to gain market share against Conn. Reynolds may have decided to use the Geyer wrap on this “high end” horn. Well, as usual, I’m running behind. I was going to post a set of horns on 02022020 but I was in Chicago and it didn’t get done….My thought is that many of these horns will serve a family of modest resources to get a good horn to a student without breaking the bank. Sorting through a shed the other day, looking for sacrificial horns for a horn tossing contest at a nearby university, I came across this beauty. It’s a FEO3 made with Cleveland parts. The 70,000 range instruments were made by Olds using the last of the Cleveland parts, from their purchasing of the Reynolds company. The FEO3 is a Chambers model after the break up of the Reynolds Co. It has some boinks and doinks, needs a serious bath in a 50 %vinegar 50% water  bath to remove the oxide.
