This SBT has mostly been stored. I believe I did one feather stick and a paper sharpness test and that's all. I noticed the micarta is a little darker where it rubs going in and out of the sheath. Well, 16 hours into carving and sanding the stock blank for my Trade gun, one horrendous split appeared, and something resembling insect damage. What I thought was just a large growth ring opened up completely, the other insect-looking rot opened too but it did not follow the growth ring to the other side of the stock. The kit supplier's attitude is any work done to the wood voids the warranty -- suck it up. How you find hidden wood damage without working it is beyond me, I guess I need to...
