The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) is deploying to Rock Hill, South Carolina, where a severe thunderstorm—producing hail as large as three inches—wreaked havoc over the weekend. More than 100 homes were damaged in the massive hailstorm that broke windows, ripped down fences, and turned yards white with balls of hail. Chaplains will minister to those affected by the storm—and offer them the lasting peace and comfort that’s available only through a relationship with God’s Son, Jesus Christ. “The storm that affected Rock Hill caught many people off-guard. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” —James 1:5, ESV It’s easy to seek counsel through social media, the internet, your family and friends—but how do you decipher truth from deception in this sea of opinions? On the final installment of her Fearless podcast miniseries called “The Lies of I’s,” Cissie Graham Lynch speaks about the lie of “worldly wisdom.” “So much of the wisdom we seek from the world is all centered around ‘I’: How can I improve myself? … How can I put myself first?” Cissie explained. When we loo ..read more

“We survived it. It went right over our house. The path was right here,” Greg said.  The Winchester, Indiana, resident broke down in sobs as he spoke with chaplains about the traumatizing EF-3 tornado that tore through his home on March 14. The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) offered God’s comfort to Winchester residents, and reminded them that He is “a very present help in time of trouble” (Psalm 46:1, ESV). On April 25, 1974, plans for a Billy Graham Crusade in Portugal came to a halt due to the Carnation Revolution. The coup ended a dictatorship and brought the country greater civil liberties. But in the turbulent aftermath, the outreach was canceled. Although Mr. Graham never preached in Portugal, he shared the Gospel throughout the country in December 2011 through a home-based film project called My Hope with Billy Graham. Seven years later, Franklin Graham picked up where his father left off, holding the Festival of Hope in Lisbon, where more than 14,000 people heard the Good News with hundre ..read more

The world constantly tells us that we need more—but do we really? On the third installment of her Fearless podcast series “The Lies of I’s,” Cissie Graham Lynch calls out the danger of “I Need.” “Why is this a problem?” she asked. “When we confuse a want with a need, we’re always left dissatisfied,” Cissie said. “Ironically, as one of the richest nations in the world, we are one of the least content.” Only Jesus Christ can truly satisfy the human soul—and He can cultivate in us a thankful heart, she added. “The real question is, do you believe that God sees you and that He will truly provide ..read more
